So, random thought, why was Montclair chosen as the RB2 facility? If RedBull were going to make investments to upgrade collegiate facilities for their USL squad, why didnt they partner with a more conveniently located school? If they wanted to keep it close to RBA, why not partner with Rutgers Newark or NJIT? If you wanted to make it convenient to the fans that commute from NYC, why not Stevens in Hoboken? You could literally walk to the Stevens campus from the Hoboken PATH, which has access to both 33rd St and WTC PATH lines.

I am sure there are other conveniently located colleges in NYC, I can only speak for the schools Im familiar with in NJ.

They've had a long term relationship with Montclair.   Newark campuses are sketchy AF and hardly more convenient.   Stevens is a traffic nightmare for anyone driving.  And you don't know who they might have talked to.  Maybe the other schools weren't interested.

Zlatan makes $7.2 million this year or, in other words, 87% of our total payroll.

Wright-Phillips: $1,380,000
Long: 800,000
Kaku: 800,000.

Duncan: 57,225
White: 57,225
Barlow: 56,250
Nealis: 55,250

3rd-lowest salary expenditure in the league, ahead of Houston and Vancouver.

Remember the days when you would have maybe a couple guys in the $250 -350 range, plus a DP or two, and the rest of the regular starters were barely over $100k?   I remember thinking when Dax got like $350 or $400 or whatever it was, "good for him, finely getting paid real money."

Yes, the second/third/fourth string defenders shit the bed, again.     We can only hope when the playoffs come,  we have our best 4 available.   Championships aren't won with second string defenders.

Here's a positive - because I'm a glass half full guy - Ivan was hella fun to watch.   The stuff he was doing down the sideline was absolutely on another level and just humiliated the guys trying to defend him.   Kinda sloppy or too cute with the final pass (flashbacks to Roy Miller back heels), but damn, the rest was really good and something we've missed since Grella was breaking ankles.

Also, Big Tom Barlow was taking no prisoners, and the Fernandez/Casseras combo continues to develop into something special.   I remember when Davis and Adams were starting out, and how they made each other better on the field together.  Reminds me of that.

I parked there this morning - not a single car in the place.  I had to take a ticket to get in, just assume we wont need one to get out.   Montclair Heights station is closer to the stadium than the PATH in Harrison.

I've had my eye on this kid for a while, as many of you probably have.  The question is, can he play backup CB or LB?

I attended game last week , 1st this year , still a gravel parking lot , took 1Hr to get out of the lot when leaving. They need to improve the roads into the Stadium and have a parking garage . RB Stadium is world class but the parking and roads into are at best high school level.

That lot is the worst, with too many cars going out one exit.   If you park further away from the stadium its no problem.  If you want to park there, plan on after-gaming until things clear out a bit.

A rising tide destroys those without a boat. Or those on the shore feeding the masters in the yacht.

It's not going to make any more sense if you keep repeating this unrelatable aphorism.

You can read what you want to read out of it man.  We all know what it means, Leipzig is the main show.  We're just here to feed it.  I didn't see a single mention of winning trophies in any of what he said.  Meanwhile, he sits in Germany in a low pressure gig.  Good to be the king.

I'm not the one projecting all sorts of interpretation onto a simple, harmless statement.   Any other organization would dream of being able to generate a meaningful pipeline of talent qualified to join a top euro team.  We've sent exactly one player ever to another RB team, a player that was leaving us no matter what delusional scenario you could devise otherwise.    Whatever their motivation, it can only translate to a significant investment in identifying and developing local talent, which is something to celebrate.

Ajax's club directors have one sole focus...winning their league and advancing in the Champions League.  Ragnick just flat out said that is not our top priority.  Need to stop drawing this parallel.  It is not the same.

No, he did not say that, flat out or otherwise.    "We want to create a synergy effect between these clubs, from which RB Leipzig, in particular, can profit and develop even further."   He said nothing of that being a priority over anything else.

"In particular" does not mean solely or to the exclusion of all others.    They may benefit most, but we also benefit.   The entire concept of synergies is in opposition to it being a zero-sum exercise, where we have to sacrifice in order for them to profit.    A rising tide lifts all boats.

Better ideas are seen on this board, than from the FO.
However, we did not get Red Cards this year.
How would this be handled on our cellphones?

We didn't get physical red cards, but the phone app red cars function exactly the same way.

I wonder how the free parking works.  Are they paying Montclair?    Is Montclair letting us use their deck gratis?

Don't think anyone mentioned it, but Ivan looked tremendous in his cameo.

I am not going either way (will be out of town), but I echo the sentiment: no issue holding it elsewhere due to the fact most don't give a shit about the tourney. Absolutely the wrong call to charge STH for it, though.

They should have implemented a tiered ticket redemption window based on seniority.

Day 1: oldest STH, say 5+ years
Day 2: 2-5 years
Day 3: new STH and also open for sale to general public

They could have structured the groupings so that even if everyone in day 1 requested a free ticket (extremely unlikely) they would be guaranteed to get one.

Sure, in theory there wouldn't be enough seats for every STH, but it's extremely unlikely that everyone would be willing to go farther west with limited mass transit on a work night

The problem with that, besides being overly complicated, is that STH's would all sign up for the free ticket, selling out the place, and then 90% would be no shows.

What they should do is charge us the $10, then when the ticket actually gets used, put a $15 concessions credit on our red card.

I love the way he makes adjustments for the second half, and consistently makes game-changing subs.

I hate the way he consistently needs to make adjustments in the second half and needs subs to change the game.

What kind of costs are we talking for RBA vs MSU?

a few grand vs a few hundred grand.   The $10 doesn't bother me, but they really should be comping STH's as a matter of principal.
