I don't like Marsch, and the team is doing well and is fun to watch.
There, now the only two sane arguments have been made. Can I close the thread now?
Pretty much yeah, that is about what it all boils down to.

Whomever they pursue in the summer is going to have to hustle and not stand around all day and that usually isn't the in your mid-30's player.
This is true, and also an absolute must. Marsch can get the team to play over their heads for a while, but eventually talent does matter and that's especially true in the playoffs. They MUST get someone for that LM spot. Has to have a great workrate, and be offensively good. Hopefully around that 27 years old number.
You get that one piece and we have a shot at this thing outside of injury.
You can't play above your talent. Perhaps they have more talent then you appreciate. New coach, new system, a lot of new players. Not sure why we have already met our ceiling.
The defense has been patched together, but they are protected by the high press and need mostly to just focus on defending the counter. Besides that, we can beat the dead horse re: LM, but all the other starters have real talent, certainly by MLS standards. Can't say that BWP, Sacha, Sam, Felipe or Dax are playing over their heads individually. We just aren't used to seeing a disciplined system being executed.

If you can't play above your talent, then Marsch is unlocking the players' full talent. Lloyd Sam is a perfect example. Strictly a winger last season, now he's more involved in the attack and pinches in instead of hanging on the wing. Easily one of the best players in MLS right now.
As far as I'm concerned DC played "above their talent" much of last season. Then we burned them in the playoffs.
So, we'll see how this all goes.

Bayonne? That's where I live. Where the heck would they practice here? Lots of sucky fields.

Guy looks like coach of the year to me so far. Could not have expected any more at this point. Well organized and hustling team without any primadonnas. I like the style we play as well.
