So hes taking over for a beloved figure at the club and a team that is in absolute free fall

This is a bad bad spot for him - he is absolutely set up for failure here

Never before has Jesse succeeded when taking over for a club's beloved figure.

Jesse Marsch appointed Leeds United head coach after Marcelo Bielsa departure | Football News | Sky Sports

Marsch: "My respect for Marcelo Bielsa is massive. I've watched him for years and he has such a unique playing style. A lot of what I believe in and my playing principles are similar to the things that he likes and he does, and I followed very popular managers wherever I've gone."

Ya, seems like he's stepped into a similar situation with following a loved manager.

Rooting hard for the guy.  Made a huge fan out of me for sure. Just stinks that we couldn't win it all when he was here.  We were raelly only one offensive player short.

We were [really] only one offensive player short.

Wouldn't be the first time.

Hopefully our uberlords learned something from that and the recent carnage.  Looking much better now.

Jesse's job got a little easier today with Burnley losing to Leicester.  Burnley is two points behind Leeds, but have a game in hand.  Burnley's only won 3 out of 25 games this season, so I wouldn't put money on them winning their game in hand (unless it's against Watford or Norwich).

Also, Leeds is only one point behind Brentford, but have a game in hand.  So they could move ahead of Brentford.

Jesse is way too honest for his own good. Did he say he tried to convince the Leeds director not to hire him and keep Bielsa??

I only saw the 2nd half, but the result against Leicester was a little unfair. Leeds could have easily had 3 if not for a great game from Schmeichel. They definitely looked better defensive.

And I know he joked Ted Lasso doesnt help American coaches, but then he went and had a Ted Lasso-esque team circle in the center of the pitch after the match.

I saw the first half and Leeds was dominant. I think Leicester's only shot was Leeds in the first half. Former NYCFC player Jack Harrison almost opened the scoring for Leeds late in the first half.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

I've gotta think he'll get the W against Norwich this weekend. Willing to bet them along with RBNY in a two game parlay
