I'm baffled as to why he's still on the roster.. The Designated Player spots should be for MLS Allstar or MLS MVP caliber type players not guys that maybe have played a total of 80 minutes the whole season because they can't beat out competition on their squad
He's under contract for next season. Today was about announcing decisions made about players whose contracts expire at the end of this season. Doesn't mean they still won't move him before next March.
All the decisions here were the right ones except maybe keeping Barlow, but if the plan is to acquire an actual striker and keep him as the team's third option behind a DP and White then whatever.

Feel bad about Ben Mines getting cut, too.
RIP Guillermo Romulo, Alexander Francis Orig, Celenio Eleazar, and my Mom, Resurreccion Eleazar.
RIP Cesar Castello, Mike Vallo, Glenn Stampiglia, Bob Paquette, and Warren Lee

Gave up the full ride to Stanford a couple years ago. Hoping his pro journey continues somewhere else.

If we end up moving to the 4-1-2-1-2 or 3-4-1-2 full time, Mines doesnt fit in tactically in any of those formations. I hope he finds a landing spot somewhere, still has a chance to be good.

“For our players departing, we’d like to thank them for their hard work and professionalism during their time with the club,” said Head of Sport Kevin Thelwell. “As we move forward into next season, we have clear focus on recruiting players that fit our philosophy, improve our squad, and help push us towards our goal of competing for the Supporters’ Shield and MLS Cup.”
Feel like this is just insulting to say at this point.
Cant wait to hear that no one fit in our transfer plans and the only guys were 4 random colleges guys...

Unless there are multiple (3-4+) trades over the offseason, I'm worried this roster is going to look way too much like what we saw this year.
If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

I was pretty sure Mathias Jørgensen is under a DP contractHes not a DP, his contract wasnt up so there was no decision to be made at this point in time. Doesnt mean he will be here next season.
, if not TAM, either way he was a swing and a miss
But I guess today was only about exercising options

Yeah, he is only 20 years old. Performed well when he was given the opportunity. At least try to develop him until he reaches 22 or 23.
