IMO, this is a winnable game and we should go for the three points. VAN has played better recently, but are still 19th at home(19 puts in 11 games), while RB has been playing well on the road (also 19 in 11). They average 2 goals at home, so we should not sit back and expect or play for a low-scoring draw. VAN also sit behind RSL for the final playoff spot, and a win would help Petke.

ATM, we are second in MLS on points, first in PPG, first in goals, first in GA.

No doubt, the NYC game is a 6-pointer, but we can and should definitely go after VAN in the opening half.
I agree that the turf may be a problem, but I am sure that BWP will decide if he is up for it, and for how long.

Agree its a winnable game, buuuuut... five games in 15 days, starting with the VAN match. Guys, specifically older ones like BWP, are not going to be able to go 90 minutes in all of them. (far) Away game, artificial turf, Western opponent, City game two days later... seems like a good opportunity to get some of the important players a breather.

So, if BWP is just a spot sub, why even bring him?
Spare him the 5,000 mile round trip.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

I wouldnt mind that at all. If we have any chance at MLS Cup, we need BWP healthy and rested.

We have a huge game @ NYC 4 days after this one.

............White

.......Etienne.... Muyl

........Davis....Adams

Lade.. Escobar..ndam.. Parker..murillo
.............robles

I would rather not see Collin but we need to be 100% sharp for the game against Smurfs, so I'd consider throwing him out as a sub this game.

I don't trust lade or kutler matched up against Alphonso Davies on the right, so Murillo has to get the start.

Makes sense, I would love it if they did that.

this would be a perfect game for Abang to be a tank and just collide with Waston all game long. but yeah, i don't think we go with the 1st XI in this match, come to think about it.

Ivan should start to see what he can do in a non-rivalry game where he can get 90 mins in this league under his belt.  Whether Ivan plays with Etienne or Muyl I don't care

In terms of rotation, I would rather rest a player or two in select games than do a full or half team switch.  Prioritizing playing the first team against the smurfs.  For the more irreplaceable guys, this is how I would rotate it (van/nyc/dc/houston/montreal).  The Vancouver game coming first makes this tricky

BWP: stay home/play/play/sub on/play

Kaku: play/play/rest/play/play
Kemar: stay home/play/play/play
Tyler: play/play/play/rest/play

Royer: rest/play/play/play/sub on/play

Definitely would go with the B lineup here. One thing in our favor - Vancouver has to go cross country midweek for the second leg of the Canadian Championship.

Curious why everyone has Abang in the 18. Guy just got back here and the club was happy to loan him out to every tom, dick and harry.

Weve got a full week of rest before this one. Gotta play ur best 11 and start rotating after that.

Our squad is young which will help. That being said...gotta heavily rotate BWP Royer and Rzatkowski. Davis doesnt have Tylers engine so hes gonna need to sit too.

if we rest BWP, then White and Etienne are the only strikers. i'd prefer Abang, just because i didn't want to include Collin in the traveling 18.

This. We literally have no proven backup to BWP.

As others have noted, we will have difficulty acquiring a proven goalscorer to play a back-up role. Spending DP money on a sub is crazy.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Royer has proven that he can make good runs, find good spots, and finish. Added bonus is that he works very hard in the pressing game.

Play him up top and slide Etienne into his midfield role if you need to rest BWP.
