Little known fact about the possession stat in soccer - it's nothing more than a percent of total passes, so the two stats you're talking about are identical

Fans understandable assume its a measure of time of possession, and to be honest I don't know why stat companies don't do it that way. I know from working briefly for Opta that they mark when possession changes, it wouldn't be hard to make some calculations based on time of possession.

I was today years old when I learned this.

An example re: the conversation earlier in the thread about teams not taking full advantage of the added subs. North London Derby is in the 78th minute and there has been a total of 1 sub between both sides. Even crazier, there are 6 players on yellows.

My personal frustration is incalculable.

5 subs helps. have to take advantage of the rule change every match.

also, when Barlow came off, looks like Omir was inserted up top.

RIP Guillermo Romulo, Alexander Francis Orig, Celenio Eleazar, and my Mom, Resurreccion Eleazar.

RIP Cesar Castello, Mike Vallo, Glenn Stampiglia, Bob Paquette, and Warren Lee

Top 5 players on the Spurs bench (Ndombele, Lamela, Sessegnon, Bergwijn, Fernandes) valued at ~$140M by Transfermarkt.

3 subs ended up on the pitch, in 82, 84 and added time. Spurs play again on Wednesday.

Caramba!

it wouldn't be hard to make some calculations based on time of possession.

Again, fans are disappointed.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

So happy to beat Atlanta, under any circumstances.

glad he is ok and was able to get back to playing so soon.

why does the coach play him in that heat/humidity if fitness is a bit lacking?

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.
