Nice to finally get a W. Especially against DC. But honestly, they have a bunch of guys out and suck right now. So can't get too excited.
I agree with the consensus that White should be starting for the time being. Although where is Tetteh? If he is in the 18, why not throw him in? I liked the formation change though. Kaku is best when he is playing central IMO.
Armas and Hamlett should have never been given the full time jobs. They were assistants for a reason. 2 years later they have both been removed.
I think this is great, seems like this is a fresh reset for the club. Thelwell gets to choose his manager, and start buying players. Now....Red Bull is still going to have to open up the purse for this team to improve, but this is a great first step. It is so refreshing to see SOMETHING from this team. To see something that says our current form is unacceptable.
Given Thelwell's background I would think the new coach will be someone from Europe / with European pedigree. But who knows?
Thelwell just got here. I think he will give Armas the benefit of the doubt until the end of the season. Unless we go on a realllly bad stretch of form. Especially because this is a weird season anyway with Covid (condensed schedule, more teams making playoffs, ect)
After this season, Thelwell will have a good sample size of games to look at - and will get to see how Armas handles his new additions in Tetteh, Yearwood, Pendant, Egbo...I think he will make a decision at that point. You would think Red Bull would have no issue spending money on a coach considering how well Marsch has done with his move to Salzburg. I don't think there's any chance that Armas has European aspirations like that. MLS coach is probably his ceiling, and he's probably more fit to be a USL coach IMO.
