In this instance, he seems to have done something good for the city, unless you're against helping out struggling small business owners and reversing pay cuts imposed on stadium workers by the Wilpons. 

Seems is the operative word. I will wait to see what, if any, small business owners are actually helped. Cohen said long ago that he would end the pay cuts. DeBozo had nothing to do with that.

I get it, you don't like DeBlasio, but it seems kind of weird to criticize him here.

Your last statement is flat out wrong.  Businesses did struggle in NYC under both Rudy and Bloomberg, in the aftermath of 9/11. 

Businesses came back strong, and NYC was doing great.
I cannot think of anything DeBozo has done that has not made NYC worse.

DeB probably thought about opposing it but had no real basis to do that, and the donation of 1.75M covered him from political attacks.

No doubt he was just making noise to squeeze something out of Cohen.  He didn't want to overplay his hand because he likely would've lost in court and/or been thrown in the East River by a disgruntled Met fan, lol.

 

I'm just glad it's over and Cohen got the team.  Mets deserve nice things after being forced to live through the consequences of the Wilpon's Madoff fallout for so long.

I heard that Cohen has more money than the next two richest MLB owners combined!
It will be interesting to see if he is willing to spend like the Dodgers have done to win the WS. LAD reportedly lost $125 Million this year. Think I read that Cohen is willing to lose $200 annually for a couple of years to get the team he wants.
