Meanwhile in Columbus:

"You're last interview included 300 pages. This has 299. Can you tell me what has changed?"

"Previosly page 1 was to fire the head coach and replace him with someone who would stab me in the back a couple years later."

Hope Columbus malls don't run out of pants.

Today, we lost Ndam, 30K difference in salary. We got Tarek, international slot, 50K allocation.

Seems like a good tradeoff?

I don't see what the big deal is. The physical tools were there, but the head isn't. We free up an international slot and get some $. And if we want another fourth-string African defender, just get those shady Rainbow FC agents to print out another passport...

If Ndam goes then what do we get for him exactly?

50K?

Honestly, if all we lose is someone who had played 91 league minutes in 2 years, and someone who had been 18 years old for longer than  year, we can probably afford it.

OAM has Muyl as automatically protected, along with Etienne, Mines, and Louro.

I feel like Meara will almost certainly be picked up if unprotected, but also think that Ndam and Casseres are more valuable to our specific situation, and definitely have higher ceilings, so would be uneasy if they are unprotected.

Last year, it said: Homegrown players on the supplemental roster are automatically protected... so, yes, Muyl is a freebie.

Bet he starts next year

He won't be the first player who showed nothing in his first half-season to prove later to be a contributor... but I'd be surprised. He seems two steps behind every time.

Wonder if Ivan is a buyout candidate. That price is steep for a bench player.

Amazing fact: before Redding, the last field player to go 90 minutes in his one and only Metro game was Louis Ken-Kwofie... in 1996.

In fact, the only four field players are Redding, LKK, Ken Hesse and Danny Barber (the latter two were cut after starting the inaugural Metro game).

If you include goalkeepers, Alex Horwath and Chris Konopka, both in 2011.

What a career, Tommy!

Don't understand WHY MLS does this shit every year!!

Because Seattle and Atlanta play in NFL stadiums.

I really don't understand why people care what fans of other teams think...

Wow, is this article on the official site awful. First of all, it separates Red Bulls and MetroStars achievements, which is utter shit. Secondly, it doesn't even get the 2000 facts straight, it was not an aggregate series.

Oh... and van den Bergh was not a forward.

That's not even the worst of it. 2001 playoffs we tie LA away 1-1, win at home 4-1, lose away 4-2. We outscore them 7-6, 3-1 on away goal and lost because the format was total points, not goals. We've been screwed by playoff rule changes multiple times, but mostly, by losing games at home in the playoffs which is on us, not on the rules.

I was in LA for that game.... 6000 people at the Rose Bowl at noon, temperature in the 90s. Petke had to come off at halftime.

Sigh.

Game's 2-1 in stoppage time.  Free kick at the top of the box.  Who do you want over it?  Rza?  Taxi?  Kaku?

Anyone but Roy Miller.

Since MLS instituted the away goals tiebreaker in 2014, the worse seed has won the first leg of a series at home by one goal five times, but has only advanced twice.
