Davis may have the treatment of Dax and Sacha in the back of his mind.

Oh yeah, and BWP.
This post is dedicated to all the slow defenders of the world. Godspeed! my brothers

Plus Luis. The armband has been the Kiss of Death.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

With all the other players they are going to have to replace or upgrade this off season, losing Davis would be very bad.  Last thing you want with a young team that is going to be filled with even more new faces is to lose the team's clear on field leader and veteran.

I don't think it'd be anything for Davis to worry about this year, or even over the next few years if a new contract is signed. Dax was the only one health and on the right side of 30 who the club pushed out the door, and that was with a known generational talent coming right behind him. Davis just played every regular season minute with nobody competing for the spot. Probably more something for him to think about towards the end of his next contract.

I imagine some idiot in the FO thinking:
unload him now before he gets injured ...

I get the comparison of Luis to Dax & Sacha, but the team did right by Luis. They could have traded him, but they released him so he could sign with whoever he wanted.

Davis - Im sure they find agree and I hope Sean gets paid
Meara totally fine with him being back up
Long - wonder if he is healthy enough to go on loan in Jan ?
Im sure his agent snd Thiewell have connections

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

They could have kept him, too.

He could have retired. Its ok to move on from players. Luis didnt even make it through a full season at Inter and then retired. Metro Legend, but it was his time to go.

The point is, that RB jettisoned its captain. Yet again.
It would be nice if RB does not do it to Sean.

they will probably do it at some point but I dont see it happening now. He was probably the most important player this season for this team and the team desperately needs veteran leadership.

We also took a shit package from Orlando so Sacha could go where he wanted. Dax is the one who probably has some legitimate gripes about how he was handled, though it's hard to argue Marsch wasn't 10000% correct to open up space for Adams and Davis.

Sean Davis deflects a question on his status with #RBNY  for 2022. Says he wants to be the best captain he can be, which means being focused on Saturday and the playoffs.

Why would he say anything else? He theoretically has leverage at this point.
