Future NYCFC location trumps RBA

23 August 2023 - 08:32 AM

NYCFC entered the league in 2015 and definitely siphoned off some fair weather RB fans, and probably some on their side of the Hudson. Fortunately RBNY avoided complete irrelevancy with two Shield wins and a US Open Cup final between 2015-18. Then NYCFC wins an MLS Cup, but didnt seem to get too much of a bounce, possibly due to the continuing impact of the pandemic. RBNY has been fortunate to this point. However once (if?) NYCFC gets that stadium built in that prime location, RB is in trouble if they continue with the same roster building strategy. They need to push now and spend on a roster that can get 18k people in RBA every match.
