Speedy Williams has played in the past four USL Cups, this is his first loss.

Has anyone ever done that here?

Not personally, but it's been done.

#1356810 What are USL salaries?

Posted by Brian.MLS on 15 November 2019 - 09:56 AM

USL need no franchises with the 2 label.
Some MLS clubs rebranded their 2s.
The rest should. Why not RBNJ?

Agreed, need to rid the 2 element. 6 clubs remain with the 2, II, or B attachment. Not counting New England and Inter Miami.

I think the clubs having the most success from a business front are those that are hybrids (business side is owned by Reno and Rio Grande Valley ownership, but coaches and players are owned by San Jose Earthquakes and Houston Dynamo). Attendance for these two ranked in the top half (17th and 22nd) in the USL professional system (46 teams), whereas the closest MLS owned and operated team ranked 32nd and down to last place 46th, with the bottom 9 teams having 8 MLS owned clubs.

27. Tacoma Defiance = Sounders
32. Real Monarchs = RSL
33. Portland Timbers 2
34. Atlanta United 2
38. Loudoun United = DC United
39. North Texas SC = FC Dallas (USL1)
41. LA Galaxy 2
42. NYRBII
43. Swope Park Rangers = Sporting KC
44. Bethlehem Steel = Philly Union
45. Orlando City B (USL1)
46. Toronto FC II (USL1)

FC Cincinnati officially declines the option on Etienne Jr. Oddly enough, they picked up the option on Hassan Ndam, who was loaned to Charlotte and struggled before not seeing time for either team after Charlotte sent him back.

Jared Stroud named to the USL All-League First Team. Chris Lema named to the second team.

Former NYRBII winger Junior Flemmings didn't make either team even with 16G,7A for Phoenix.
Hard to argue the selections over him. His teammates Soloman Asante had 22G,17A and Adam Jahn had 17G,5A and both earned first team honors. Daniel Rios was the other selection with 21G,2A. All deserving.
The second team was Sebastian Guenzatti with 18G,6A, former Red Bull Corey Hertzog with 19G,6A and Neco Brett with 17G,5A.

#1356636 Is Robles out?

I read it as Robles out and Meara is up.

Hamlett needs a huge offseason, especially with the three new scouts that they have/will have on board. Well let's compare offseason acquisitions in the Curtis/Hamlett eras.

Both SDs found "fits" and made it happen early either prior to the season or in the 1st month or so. If we have to wait for the July transfer window, I'd be really worried. The only pattern I see with both Curtis and Hamlett is that the yr in which we won a Shield, each SD had a HUGE offseason in January.

Courtesy of this site's "Transactions Page", below are the players both Sporting Directors signed that weren't college players, HGs, or reservists. Also, they're players who contributed to the 1st team.

CURTIS
Moves 2015:
Zizzo
Felipe
Zubar
Sacha
Grella
Taxi

Moves 2016:
Baah (maybe)
Collin
Royer

HAMLETT:
Moves 2017:
Murillo
Fidel (maybe)

Moves 2018:
Rza
Casseres
Kaku
Parker
Duncan

Moves prior to and mid 2019:
Tarek
Sims

Marsch was calling the shots until he left. Once he did, Hamlett took over and has been a debacle.

I'm sure Austria didn't help, but Hamlett is the worst Sporting Director in club history (maybe Agoos).

but with Amando, he had to go to Tijuana first before coming back and signing for RB2.

He came back as a first team signing before being cut in preseason and signing with the USL team.

#1355959 Lade retires

Lade just stated there are opportunities at the club for him that he will be considering that dont involve travel (so likely not a coach with one of the older teams).

Lade should have retired 2 years ago. Maybe we don't get smoked in Atlanta with someone else back there.

Thanks for the memories I guess?

Boo. Thumbs down to you.

#1355859 What would it take for Red Bull to sell?

Unless your reliable source is an investment bank or M&A advisor, I'm not sure how super reliable the information is.

How about a prospective buyer?

#1355725 What would it take for Red Bull to sell?

Price is set at $500M as recent as last year, according to a super reliable source.

So... we still have the USL team in the playoffs.

Duncan, Buckmaster, Nealis, CCJ, Omir, and Barlow would be needed upgrades and are eligible.

Even Meara is eligible, but hard to crush Louro like that at this stage. Would certainly hinder his growth.

Need a true captain as well. If Robles stays, a field player needs to take the responsibility. Nobody on this team is that right now, except maybe Royer.

Final 2-1, before the 4th minute promised while we were on a break. Ball went to Jorgensen so he would have missed anyway.

1 freaking point in the last 5 matches. Our front 4 has been garbage.

Updated Standings:
1. Pittsburgh - 65pts
2. Nashville - 64pts
3. Indy XI - 63pts

4. Tampa Bay - 58pts
5. NYRBII- 57pts
6. Louisville - 57pts

So, crazy playoff scenarios as we enter the final games this weekend:

A loss and Louisville win or draw we are at Indy. A Louisville loss, we are at Tampa Bay.

A draw and Tampa Bay draw, we are at Tampa Bay. If Tampa Bay wins and Louisville wins, we are at Indy. If Tampa Bay and Louisville lose, we host Tampa Bay. If Louisville draws and Tampa Bay loses, still host Tampa Bay based on GD.

A win and Tampa Bay and Louisville wins, we are at Tampa Bay. If Tampa Bay draws, we host Tampa Bay. If Louisville wins and Tampa Bay doesn't get a win, we host Louisville.
