The promoters plan to have the next World Chess Championship match in NYC in Nov 11-30, 2016

The match is now 12 games long, with 1 extra day if needed, for playoffs. There is no intermission during each game.

The story line will likely be that the two contestants are so young, both were born in 1990.

Sergey Karjakin the challenger from Ukraine originally, now a Russian citizen.

Magnus Carlsen the champion from Norway.

Thinking of checking out a game. Wonder how expensive these tickets will be and where to buy them...

The match has gone 10 games tied 1-1 with 8 draws, out of the 12. If still tied then a playoff looms. TODAY and MONDAY are the last 2 remaining scheduled matches. They start at 1:30pm. Tickets sold out. But you can watch online.

Congrats to the champ!

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.
