#1357875 Kemar Lawrence wants out

Posted by redredred on 11 December 2019 - 08:39 PM

I think a lot of euro teams rip up contracts all the time to keep players happy and maintain resale value.  (I think Leicester just did this with manager and are about to with a bunch of players)

MLS is different than all the other US leagues because of the global market.

Think Taxi is right.  If they are really not going to sign any players over 24/26 maybe it doesn't matter for the future, but I don't think it's a great look.

Would rather they sell him overseas than trade within MLS.

The home field advantage thing is also kind of funny since As far as I can tell, theyve only lost once at home in open cup at rba (on penalties).

Salzburg is getting stripes for next year...

Any hope for metro stripes?

Is Motown actually paying players? Providing benefits? How?!

#1344521 Thierry Henry linked to RB coaching role

Part of me doesnt want to see Henry come back to manage and be unsuccessful in an embarrassing tarped off RBA.

But if he did come it would seem like a sign of hope for the clubs ambition.

I cant imagine hed come unless they were willing to spend some money on players.

The core of the team should still be pretty good for another year or two and it seems like Armas has them underperforming and sloppy.

If Henry came back, perhaps hed be able to motivate them to play a decent first half and if he brought in a couple good players...

What a great metro collectible! Now I can remember Andy Ivans massive contributions to the SS last year.  Too bad they didnt find an image that included Robles, BWP or Adams.

$35 lowest standard for San Jose in March.

Resale tickets at $21 which tells a lot about demand.

I think theyve given up on trying to fill it, and will see how badly they can soak existing fans.

They kill most of the cheapest seats the same time they launch auto renew? Give me time upgrades and hope no one notices higher prices next year?

Red Bull dont seem to care much about Salzburg occupying a stadium that is maybe 20% full most of the time...

Id also be very upset if I was forced to relocate from my upper level row 1 seats. Great view for watching games.

I do wonder about the alternative course of history in which Red Bull had purchased the cosmos branding, stuck the rb logo on the jerseys and all over the stadium. Would that have made any difference?

Too bad if no big addition, thought price paid for Parker was too high at time but I think hes probably responsible for adding many points to place in standings. Similarly good attacking addition would be worth it, imo. Think current makeup of team can be refreshed to make playoffs next few years but Window is closing for a lot of main contributors to win something.

#1317890 Marc Rzatkowski loaned from Salzburg to Metro

How many of our guys would start on that team?

I went to a Salzburg game last August. Gulbrandsen started and scored.  Salzburg won 5-1.  The opposing team (newly promoted) was terrible.  I think most of the players on the MLS team would be able to play in Austria., and probably some of the guys from the II team.  Actually think some of the younger guys like Etienne could do well in Austria.

Salzburg's red bull arena was maybe 20% full for this league game.

I understand that Salzurg's access to Euro competition and proximity to Leipzig attracts talent, but I don't think the league is as competitive as MLS.

#1308344 2018 Season Ticket Prices

Posted by redredred on 23 August 2017 - 09:27 AM

Did so many people actualy buy tickets, but not show up?  Were tickets distributed to sponsors, groups, etc., who had no intention of going?

The numbers generated in other stadiums seem far more legitimate.

There are 4 "season tickets" right next to my seats that I have never seen the same people in twice.  I asked to get extra tickets in those seats and my rep says they were someone else's season tickets.  Seats are empty probably half the time.  I don't really understand how anyone is making money on flipping these seats (up in 217), but apparently someone's trying to.  Been this way for at least a couple of years.

Anti-fascism scarves were the best part of last night.

Worst was hearing the whispered snickering of a couple of guys towards the back of 101 hoping that the next round brings a mexican club so they can chant "build that wall".

I hope the scarves continue to come out and multiply to shut the hate down.

Look forward to more flags next match!
