I think one thing to take away from this season would be Long & Escobar developing to the point where you offer Collin a sub-$175k/yr deal for 2018, or you move on. I like Collin, want to keep him, but we can't keep spending $400k/yr on the guy after this year. Returns will only keep diminishing.

This team's made a lot of patchwork center back pairings work over the last few years, and has probably been lucky not to have spent more time in crisis mode like we have been for much of this and last year. For the first time in awhile, we have three young centerbacks in Escobar, Long, and Baah that could realistically work out long-term if they stay healthy.

Can't diminish much further! He was quite bad for at least one or two of those 9 games and didn't finish another 2 or 3. Agreed with the sentiment. Unfortunate really, as he was great for us last year.

Collin is busy promoting himself in fashion these days.  Don't think he's got a plan to play in '18.  He showed up out of shape and out of form after signing a significant contract and has been continuously injured because of it.  I liked him and appreciate how he helped us last year but this year I have no respect for him.

Wonder what's his contract status? I don't think we need him anymore with the likes of Escober and Murillo. But if does leave along with DP, there should will be a huge priority to get a true quality CB signing next year.

both Escobar and Murillo are loans. If we had to buy them, we would likely take a big cap hit next year since the Transfer fee gets included as part of the cap hit.

Unless we can somehow get them on free transfers (which I doubt, due to their young age and national team prospects), then my guess is we try both of them out this year, and next year we buy 1 of the 2.  If we're going to stay on the 3-6-1 formation, my guess is that means we buy Escobar.

Interesting. What about Collin?  We didn't resgin him, but just took whatever his contract conditions were at Orlando?  I'm still baffled why he chosed to give up his green card.

Plantar Fascitis is not a condtioning thing, AFAIK

But either way, he's not reliable so we need to have Long and Escobar play as many minutes together as possible in prep for the playoffs.

His giving up his Green Card had something to do with his wife.

The symptoms: Plantar fasciitis, an inflammation in the bottom of the foot, is perhaps the peskiest problem that plagues the running wounded. The common characteristic of this condition is a sharp, tight, painful sensation at the base of the heel that can be anywhere from annoying to excruciating.

The feeling has been described as comparable to stepping heel first onto a nail. Eventually, the pain might go away as the day or a run is carried out, only to return afterward or again the next day. It’s a vicious cycle for sure.

The causes: Overtraining, overuse, and improper or worn-out footwear can cause pain in your heel, but the root of the problem lies in tight and weakened muscles in the foot. If your feet are weak, the heel takes on an excessive load and can’t handle the training you are trying to do.

Collin signed a new contract this year, his last one with Orlando (that they were still paying 50% of) expired at the end of the 2016 season.

No details were released for the new contract, so no idea how many years we're on the hook for. Really hoping his injuries this year are just an anomaly, he's only 30 and has never had trouble with them before.
