Respected the club with a respect that normally comes along with a player who grew from the youth ranks.  He's lifted every trophy a footballer could ever dream of but when he came to Harrison, he treated us no differently then being in an Arsenal kit prior to a Spurs match. He wore the arm band, talked with authenticity and desire about the league, it's players & clubs and most of all, he brought the goods to the pitch match n' out all the while delicately handling the Austrian calamity of ownership with the deftness of his touch just outside the box.  There's only 1 TH14, he was ours..... let's hope it remains that way even if just for one more season.

Wish he could have got to play in a cup final. Such a shame we couldn't get that done.

I honestly think that if he stays and we get a CAM and fix that backline there is no way he doesn't get his trophy next year. Im hoping the competator in him is screming for one more year.

Greatest player in franchise history. Yes, I know... Mathis, JPA, Howard, etc. Remove nostalgia from the picture and it's not even close. Second all-time in goals, first in assists, and captained this team to respectability and, ultimately, its first trophy. I don't doubt that there will be plenty of great individual and team moments in this team's future, but Titi is one-of-a-kind, and MLS will never see a player quite like him ever again, let alone Metro.

I'd go even further: he is the greatest player to ever play in MLS period. That's why it's so sad that he's leaving. After the game tonight he went out of his way to shake literally everyone's hand, so it was very obvious that this was goodbye.

Only regret is one playoff game in RB career in 13 playoff games.  This year he did step up like Valderama with a ton of assists but for whaterver reason did not seems to have killer instinct to score this year that he had in year's past. Was he better than Mathis or Angel, yes, he was the bes t Metro/ red Bull ever, but failed to get us to promised land that we all assumed he would do.

Said it to my buddies right when he was doing that.. It's clear, he's gone. And it sucks..

we gave him shit for not playing on turf but never did we see him lay out on in St. Tropez while the season is going on, in the crowd at a WC game,  or at a Royal wedding after getting a red card the game before.  He didnt have a change of heart and force a loan move that resulted in him missing a giant chunk of the season.

He took this league  and our team seriously.  Its a testament to his competitive fire.  We'll eventually get over it, but RBA without Titi will feel weird.  Like something major is missing.

The Loyd Christmas in me hopes that there's "still a chance" for one more year.   i want him to be around to pass the torch to our next franchise player ....assuming we sign one

It is going to be years before we see a player of his caliber wear our shirt again.

In MLS again, for that matter. Who the fuck is the marquee player in MLS right now? Villa, Lampard, and Kaka are great, but Henry is in a whole different class. I don't mean this as a criticism of MLS. I don't think the EPL has even adequately replaced Henry yet. He's just that unique. We were spoiled to have him in our league and on our team.

There are some good strikers in world football right now (Aguero comes to mind), but there aren't any currently playing who are at the same level as Henry was.  He's a once-in-a-lifetime player.

Titi is one of us. If given the God-given abilities necessary, we'd all treat the club, league and game the same as Titi did.

Before, we were wandering in the hinterlands, lost. With his leadership (and Petke's) we've become a marquee MLS club.

Idk where we go from here guys and gals. We just "lost" a great, a true Metro. What we'll always have is the great memories he has given us.

Than you, Titi.

If we get a CAM, next year? Indeed, just imagine what such a player would have done for us this year.

If you like TH14 and wish him only the best then don't wish him back for next year. Because there's no reason to think RBFO will be acting any differently in 2015 than they did in 2014. They will still refuse to make any significant player signings, let alone a DP (unless Cahill goes and my guess is in that case they'll do a lowball replacement). So Henry will still be left to carry the load and will even more likely fall short of an MLS Cup Championship (or even appearance).

In short, don't keep hitting your head up against a wall. If Houllier, et al. were going to get such a player then they would have done so this season and by now we'd be booking tickets to the West Coast (or, even more likely, planning for a Championship match at RBA).

we never got to see the real Thierry Henry. We never surrounded him with the pieces that would make him the scoring threat he is known for being.

Sucks. Instead we threw him out there and said, "Hey, create your own shots, big guy." Who knows what would have happened if we signed a DP left mid and a CAM?

Is there any in this rout with authority to treat with me? Or indeed with wit to understand me?

Agreed. He was pissed they lost. But reply he didn't track back either on that second goal. Only Dax and later Alexander but that's NE strength, they burned NY like that in first game so why didn't everyone sprint back. Thats the only way they know how to score other than ta king advantage of a fast break.

Cahill had a wide open shot and missed.

Peguy hit it wrong footed on a cross and he did put it away.

In the end NY didn't do enough it sucks cuz they did put in an amazing effort but NE scored more and so it's over.

I hope they don't give up on Henry and Cahill and BWP. I think they can play together. I think Alexander is servicable but and up grade ala Jones would be amazing.

I'm sorry I blame the FO as well. They didn't make a move for Dinho and Jones. If they got either or both then maybe things would be different who knows.
I just want Metro to win a title sometime in my lifetime.
