Is anything going to be done in the South Ward for him next weekend? Not sure what could be put together on relatively short notice. I'm sure the team will do something, but it would be nice to see the supporters have something as well.

I heard the NYPD has met with Red Bull officials to get together money for a reward. The cops are fairly confident that by offering $ for his capture people will turn him over in no time.

As someone involved with his club in Westchester I can't explain in words what a great lad Jonesy was. Always upbeat, happy and smiling. It was fitting that at the memorial there were as many laughs as tears as we remembered his beautiful life.

If you would like to get a slightly better picture of the type of guy Jonesy was, check out the video which played during the service:

There was also a personal piece in First Touch written by a close friend who coached with Mike at Red Bulls/Armonk:

Haven't finished seeing the vid. Work. But I read that piece yesterday and the line that summed it all up for me in understanding the loss even more than as this story developed.

"He lived more life and positively effected more people in 25 years than any man could hope to do in 100 years."

The world lost decades of what he had to offer. :(

Let's hope, if there's a moment of silence, that for the first time ever it actually is a moment of silence.

His friends were insistent that instead of a moments silence it should be a round of applause. Like the memorial this week, they want to honor his life as opposed to mourn his death.

If possible, things just got even worse:

RIP to the two Mexican detectives.
Cannot believe that he was taken alive after this.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

I would donate some money to those two Mexican cops.  Would be cool to do something at the stadium for them too.
