Unless I missed it, there has not been a thread here on soccer and the college admission scheme.

 

Why didn't they know that this was illegal and morally wrong? Why did they go along? Why did they risk their future? Probably the same can be said of any criminal activity. People do it anyway primarily because they think they will not be caught.

Yes. Did they care? No.
From the plea, we can surmise that there were 135,000 reasons for her to do this. I doubt that an assistant womens soccer coach is paid much, even at Stanford.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

When you see this you have to wonder if there has been any game-fixing or other types of corruption. It probably happens a lot but is rarely caught and punished. Regardless, it is bad publicity for soccer in the US.
