Can we just swap Sims for Long?
Aaron clearly wants and deserves a shot.

Are actual trades allowed?
Would Long want to go to a club that may be relegated?

Sims said ... Ill ... do a bit of training to stay fit.

When can he rejoin Southampton?

why switch systems - he is great in it.  Makes switch easier.

maybe he wants to not be in the system anymore, as in player preference. possibly wants something different. he's earned a move away, imo. up to him where he wants to go provided RBNY agree on price. does West Ham run a similar system? he seemed fine to go there if the teams agreed, but we know what happened.

EPL transfer fees are probably too rich for us.

Theyre not.

Were talking about Red Bull. They are loaded. Fucking LOADED.

Sims is a drop in the bucket for them. Just get it the fuck done. Jesus Christ. Cheap fucks.

We are talking about RBNY, the forgotten cousin.

After they  gave us $2M to throw away on Matty Ice, I could be talked into the belief that RB aren't necessarily as cheap as Hamlett and Armas are inept.    I can imagine the conversation that happened before that deal:

RBNY:    Dad, can you give me, like,  $10M?

Papa RB:  For what?

RBNY:  We wanna go buy someone

Papa RB:  Who?

RBNY:  Ummmm....

Papa RB:   I tell you what... go do your homework, get a smart deal ready to go, then come talk to me...

RBNY:   Ummmm... how about $5M?

Papa RB:   I saw what you did with the money we gave you for that KooKoo kid....  here's $2M, show me what you can do with that and then we'll talk.

If Hamlett and Armas are inept, then thats still an ownership problem. They need to fire management that doesnt perform.

Either Papa Red Bull is cheap or indifferent or both. My guess is both.

What do people think Josh Sims should realistically cost from a transfer fee perspective?  He signed a new deal when he came here to protect his value but he would be leaving the prem for MLS.  I was thinking $3.5mm but have no idea

Should cost?  I think $3-4M is fair.  He's a young, above average MLS player who I feel has the potential to be one of the top wingers in the league in 2-3 years.

But he's young, he's English, he's coming from the Premier League.  I bet Southampton wants 7-10M for him.  Their relegation battle could maybe play in our favor.  Loan him until the end of the PL season and hope he has a release clause.

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

There's no way anyone is paying that much money for a 22-year-old with 200 Premier League minutes. That's not young in Europe. $3-4 million is about right - maybe even a little high.

Our "big" signing is going to be a returning player who cant make the 18 on a team that has 18 goals in 17 matches and is in the relegation zone.

25 years in, this is a sad market for MLS to be in.

I'm not defending Sims at all, but I'm pretty sure he isn't eligible to play for Southampton right now because he was loaned internationally. I don't think he can be re-registered until January 1.
