Not uncommon, I can assure you.

To be fair, when I worked for Metro, Charlie Stillitano could do no wrong in my eyes and I still think the critics were too hard on him. "Imagine if it worked?" was our response back. I followed Charlie to ChampionsWorld and I'd go work for him again. Nick Sakiewicz was a lying POS so I didnt mind his critics. Alexi Lalas was actually one of the most down-to-earth guys out there. I do wonder if he goes polar opposite on opinions nowadays to stay relevant. It's tough for employees to not drink the juice when they are personally involved. I think some in media look to put blame on the product on the field rather than at the root.

Everyone that I know that has met Charlie has loved him. He just wasnt great at running the team at that time. I actually think hed be way better today, with the DP slots and larger cap. Ive met Lalas a few times through some Rutgers people and he was always great. He wasnt good at running the team either and hes a bit of a dick on tv, but I think youre right, I think thats an act for tv.

That Ben Cork is one of the biggest frauds on RBNY Twitter. Refuses to criticize the lack of investment/ambition of the club. Just tries to "own" people and collect likes with strawman arguments, and pat himself on the back when something fits his narrative. Incapable of having meaningful discussion/arguments and adressing the big picture of the club. No surprise he gets so much club access and got on TV yesterday

I'll admit, I wasn't a fan of Charlie running the team, to the point that in 1999, Richard Sandomir of the NYT asked me on the bus to GS what I thought Metro's prob was. I responded: 'C-H-A-R-L-I-E'

Almost 10 yrs later at the MLS Draft in Baltimore, Charlie walks up to me and asks, "Brent, still mad at me?"

He blocked me, and I legit have no idea why.  I don't really confront or troll for fun.   That said, he has good sources and  you don't keep those sources by shitting on them.

I know nothing about this guy, but the only meaningful signing we did (Duncan) - he told us about in advance. He has some value.

Were we not going to find out eventually anyway?

SeeingRed's pod this week mentioned that the team has the 27th best home record of 28 teams, and has won 3 of 11 matches. I knew it wasn't great, but hadn't realized it was that bad. I've generally been willing to give Struber the benefit of the doubt because I know he's working on a transfer budget made up of TJ Maxx gift cards, but...fans have a right to boo that fucking home record.

If he wants the fans to be more supportive, win your fking home games. Yes some people travel, but the people paying $300+ for a season ticket are at RBA for entertainment, not whatever the hell we call this. Zip your lip & do better.

After the CRapids loss, now 28th:

people paying $300+ for a season ticket at RBA

AFAIK cheapest ST in SW is $442 for 2023.
