MLS rejected it, not RB, probably because of Russia

I was referring to MLS, but have been told by yourself and several other smart people that MLS would in fact look very bad doing business with a Russian state owned team given the whole war thing.

I'm just happy to see Dyer back.

From where?

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

sucks that bid didnt come in before the invasion.  That is an extremely attractive bid and probably quite unlikely we get close to it imo.

In the majority of the soccer world, sure. In MLS and specifically RB, it's not. What's the benefit? You get some GAM? Maybe they can use that to bring back Caden Clark again!

I only see the benefit of selling players* once they use up every other avenue to improve the team. (Tyler Adams GAM and the 3rd DP slot.)

*Good players. Please sell Klimala ASAP... but even he doesn't deserve Russia.

For me, the main reason to sell ccj is to give Edelman a bigger role and give sserwadda more time. I think they are ready. If we cant find buyers for ccj then they should try to sell yearwood.

good teams use GAM to allow them to subsidize transfer fee related the cap hit for non-DPs.  Maybe we are smarter now but lets not pretend Philly wasnt able to create space in their roster from generating over $1.5mm of GAM last year.  And without GAM from sales you can't trade for Lewis Morgans.  We just have to use them on guys that will actually...play and not someone coming over on loan

That's absolutely correct. I'm just not sure we would be able to use that GAM on someone better than Casseres.

He is dark-skinned. Russians are not exactly fans.

Seriously, why the fuck would anyone want to go play in Russia?

Lots of money

They definitely need to pay a premium for everything right now

I prefer we keep and try to resign him long term. Crazy that he is still only 23. He's been on our best CM the past seasons and what makes you think the FO will redirect the money they make to upgrade the team. Im all for it they brought in a difference maker CF but if its to fund the signing of Manoel then NO THANKS!

Cash in on Casseres. I thought bids would be $4m at the most.

Venezuela and Russia being on good terms may have something to do with this.
