Got to watch a lot of the game last night.  Love Tinari and the fight he plays with but not sure his game will translate to the next level.  Limited athletically and pure skill.

Moreno has gotten to a point where you have to call him up.  Just consistently produces.  Between signing Andreas Ivan and him, that's basically who we should roll with.

White is really good.  His hold up play and passing in particular are just great.  Athletically can translate to the next level too.  I like his chances to make things work more than I ever liked Allen and Bonomo.

Ndam has progressed every year down there.  He's 100% with the top team next year.

Stroud has fantastic vision and skill on the ball. Not sure about his fight-level yet though.  Think that goal scored against had a lot to do with him just kind of waving at the opposing player.  Lema on the inside could have done better as well.

Casseres is an interesting cat.  Does things out there that are beyond this level but then makes some mistakes on simple plays.  Just needs to keep playing.

Moreno looked GREAT last nite. that's the intensity needed, in addition to displaying competent skills, etc in attack. Moreno has that. Not sure if he can pull it off in an actual MLS match. Would love to see him get signed to the 1st team, and loaned back down if need be.

Agreed on Casseres, and apt description.

Maybe its time to give Moreno some of Etiennes MLS minutes.

Moreno isn't too far removed from when he signed his HGP contract for the 2013 season. He performed well but wanted more minutes and Petke wanted to bring him along slowly so he jetted to Tijuana. Had the USL team been aaroundin 2013, I wonder if the result is the same. I remember Hercules Gomez posting a few videos of Moreno slacking off and the guys playing tricks on him in the weight room at Tijuana.

Glad he has matured a bit (TH14 probably won't need to take him out in practice now) and has become a force with the USL team.

i liked how he channeled any possible frustration with being a sub by trying to combine and go for goal as quick as possible. it seems he is the most ready for the prime time and he'd be a position of need, imo.

my pref for Moreno is that he plays either RM/LM for the 1st team. DE backs up BWP.

agreed.  In addition my favorite thing about Moreno is that in the attacking third when he makes moves he is decisive even if he doesn't always pick the "best" choice.  One thing that frustrates me about Muyl and Etienne at times is that when they get in good attacking positions they freeze up, and then end up dribbling into someone or playing a pass that does not get completed.  Whether its the goal last game, or even the assist on Kutler's banger when he looked around saw no one in box so he squared it to Kutler outside the box, that decisiveness would help a ton attacking the bunker. Very curious if it translates in the MLS level but worth trying out before the money part of the season

Completely agree.  He's a cocky kid and sometimes that's a good thing.

I think his game will translate though.  He's active, puts in the work, and has the skill to go along with it.  His quicks measure up to MLS too.  He'll be able to get a step on some players with his quickness and that's all he needs.

I've become a fan.  In one of those preseason games he stood out in a big way so it's great to see him be so consistent.  He really deserves it.

In general it's great to keep rewarding the kids that stand out so this is a perfect example.  Bring up Moreno, plus with the signing of Andreas Ivan, maybe one of those two guys are the answer out wide.

Now one thing I thought notable wasn't that Etienne played, it's that he played out wide.  Maybe Armas sees him more as one of those wide midfielders compared to forward.

Other times it results in Thierry Henry taking you out in practice...

When Etienne played for RB2 in the 2016 season, he was usually LM/LW. Allen was featured up top that yr, like White is now.
