Seems a bit long in the tooth for this.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Always liked Kenny and feel he could/should/would still be playing in the league. Darn cap restrictions. Do hope he signs somewhere.

Rooting for him, but the reason he's not playing isn't the cap. It's injuries. I hope he's recovered and I wish the best for him, but the MLS game might have passed him by. The NASL, USL or CPL might be a better landing spot, as long as he can stay healthy.

If the CPL ever gets off the ground, it's going to be fucking terrible quality.  Like, mid-tier NCAA D-1 at best.

Not if the 3 Canadian MLS franchises make the leap!

That has as much of a chance of happening as Swansea and Cardiff City dropping out of the English pyramid to play in the Welsh league.
Let's Go Buffalo!!!

How about Wrexham & Newport County?

IIRC there was actually talk of Wrexham going to the Welsh league after they were relegated out of league football.

They say they want to have a salary cap between MLS and USL.

But they also want to enforce what seem like strict Canadian quotas.

It'll get off the ground -- there are rumored to be plenty of investors -- and when it does, you'll have bad Canadians playing next to guys who might be able to hack it as an MLS squad player. That'll make the quality better than the MAAC. But not by much.
