Can you imagine a FK with the following players discussing who takes it:

Felipe (curling kick from a righty)
Sacha (floaters)
Taxi (lcurling kick from a lefty)
Escobar (rocket cannon of a right leg)

opposing goalie's fucked.

$20 says no one other than Sacha or Felipe takes a free kick the rest of the season.

That's an interesting bet.  Tempting too just based on the chance that either Sacha or Felipe are already subbed out of a game and then the other gets banged up.

But outside of that, it's probably right.  I do wonder if Taxi gets a chance now though. Especially from a spot that favors a lefty.  Perhaps the corner of the 18.

I thought Royer was our present penalty taker of choice.

They'll let him take a couple from the right side of the box, but that's about it.

Somewhat related: during thr first half against Quakes, there was trickery at a corner. Sacha pretended he would be in the box, then "changed his mind" and trudged to the corner. (
I think) Davis then took the corner anyway as Sacha was still jogging towards him, trying to take the defense by surprise. I think Marsch is using his box of SP tricks again, and we'll see more of that at free kicks, too.

Two weeks ago, I would've completely agreed with you.

Tell ya the truth, I'd let Escobar take any FK within 30 yds and all PKs.

He scored 2 screamers in the run of play against Austria and Argentina in the 2015 U20s. He did THIS in a qualifier in Honduras:

FUCKING NASSSSTY. Let Fidel "El Comandante" Escobar take everything. The wall will be afraid and the keeper will shit his pants. He WILL bring the Mariano Rivera style heat on the FK.
