Baah was damn good his first game.. He's getting used to the league so I expect some inconsistencies.  Especially considering he's 24 years old too.  He reminds me of Olave.  At his best when he's chasing guys down and winning the ball.  That is useful in this league.  He also seems a bit error prone right now, but Olave was at times too.

I have no problem playing Collin over him.  Collin runs like a giraffe but he imposes his will on the game when he's at his best.  He demands success.

I still trust Perinelle more than anyone we have, so I'm looking forward to his return.

I started out with a lot of enthusiasm for Baah... but that went away pretty quickly.    I know the league takes some adjustment, especially for defenders learning what they can get away with,  but Olave had blazing speed (remember that run down he did on Wayne Rooney?), was taller, and had at least 20 pounds of muscle on Baah.     Olave's calves were each the size of Baah's head.    I understand we haven't seen much from him yet, but what we've seen has not been good.    At least he's younger and less expensive than Zubar.

Perrinelle was slow and old before the injury, which turned him into a card machine.  I hope he comes back and is useful, but I'm not counting on it.

ACL's are so common in sports nowadays that I really don't think it should affect him much.  ANd I know he drew cards, but he did so in very smart ways.  Played right on that line that a centerback has to play on.

And as you said, Baah definitely isn't as big as Olave, but he is extremely strong on his feet.  Guys tend to bounce off of him.

And yes, at this point everyone is better than Zubar.  Zubar is good in the air but that's about it.

My prediction: by seasons end, Baah will be the best defender on the team. Him and Colin will start with Perinelle as depth.

I thought he drew cards because people ran past him and he had to take them down.   And he's a year older, even without the injury.

Zubar > Ouimette.

As for Baah, I'm not saying he sucks are will never be good.  We haven't seen that much.  But what I have seen so far has not impressed, and I think the expectation was for him to hit the ground running.     We'll see if its Baah or Zubar that starts next to Collin once Baah is back..  That will speak volumes.

I think the expectation was for him to hit the ground running.

I think seasoned MLS fans such as ourselves should manage our expectations a bit more for signings coming in from foreign leagues.

When you trade for a player like Collin with over a 120 MLS games under his belt, then I think it's safe to expect a more immediate impact - but a Ghanian player coming in from Finland? It takes a least half a season for players like this to really settle.

Agree completely, especially central defenders, but with Perrinelle hurt and Miazga gone, Jesse & Ali had to be counting on him being an immediate contributor.

Give Baah 6 months. That's the rule.  Henry, Cahill, Sam, BWP, etc.  These guys all took half a season to adjust and then they blew $hit up.

How can anyone have a good or bad opinion on Baah? Didn't he play like 2 games?
