And they signed Agudelo.

Hate to see it.

Does anyone think they won't also sign a couple of big international names when all is said and done?

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

West Ham spent $200 Million and are in 17th place in the EPL, just sacked the coach.

Hard to sell they will. After last year's "strategy" and the lack of buzz in our camp, it's hard to be optimistic.

not saying I want or support

sign 1 in winter.  Let scouts and analytics group work for 6 months.  Sign more in summer.

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

If its any help, almost all of our major moves (non HG/academy) since about 2015 have come later in January. International transfer windows open then.

That strategy doesn't work though. They have tried it for the last couple seasons and it's always a bust.

By the time the 'big name' summer signing starts to get consistent minutes (Sims/Veron/Ivan/Demari/Keita/etc), the team is already down multiple aggregate goals or eliminated from the playoffs.

How about the club actually signs several real big name players the second they become available and then send them to preseason camp where they can start contributing on opening day? Why does it always have to be a 'wait for the summer' approach with the front office? Enough of that.

see stupid statement like this that fly in the face of facts are just silly

eliminated from the playoffs.

Didn't we make the playoffs every year since 2010?

Didn't we get eliminated from the playoffs every single of those years? Facts are a funny thing when one is only looking to disprove them.

Sometimes I think the entire Red Bull existence has been some 19 year old kids football manager save file he only plays when he comes home drunk. - 'Mibabalou'

My mistake

Read it wrong way

I am fully on board with us spending $$$ and think RBG is being cheap plus issues with our sporting director

offseasons leading into the '15 and '18 seasons were big. both offseasons, they brought in players that became starters. the other offseasons, they did considerably less and as a result, they didn't win the shield.

RIP Guillermo Romulo, Alexander Francis Orig, Celenio Eleazar, and my Mom, Resurreccion Eleazar.

RIP Cesar Castello, Mike Vallo, Glenn Stampiglia, Bob Paquette, and Warren Lee

its getting to the point where i feel we are being robbed of US top flight Division soccer.

This is why I posted the other week about the league possibly needing to get involved if the situation continues going the way it is.

How can MLS sell itself in this major market as a top flight, legitimate soccer league if you have one of its teams operating explicitly as a farm team for two clubs in Europe that belong to the same ownership group?

There's no other situation like this in American pro sports. It makes MLS look like a joke and compromises the integrity of the competition.

Overall MLS is a selling league to Europe, but when you have a team owned by an entity as rich as Red Bull, and they are operating their MLS franchise in this manner...it's a growing problem.

May have been named the team of the decade in MLS. But they have done pretty much nothing to improve the team since 2017. We got lucky on the academy and money ball since 2015. This luck doesnt continue forever. It's obvious for the second half of the decade although a good team that we have been a development and selling team first and foremost. That is why they dont care about ticket sales and tarped the endzones of the upper levels. They never dealt with the Port Authority to work on PATH schedules on gamedays when the WTC station is closed. They dont really care about the stadium parking situation. They dont care about the speed of the concession workers. They dont care about the fan experience because they dont care about the fans. They only care about developing players and selling them to Europe. So we were lucky we have won some shields during that time and we had great coaches in Marsch and Petke that lead half way decent young players into winners. Well that wont work in MLS 3.0 or 4.0. Times look to go sour and quick with this side. Its obvious as they didnt do anything so far in the transfer market. They let Robles litterally go while under contract. We could have gotten something from Miami for Robles. We litterally released him and got nothing for him. We never signed a second threat for BWP to work with up top which would have gotten us to the promise land and win the damn MLS cup. Pretty bad times are ahead. MLS should really look at this situation.

I am just saying that maybe we should say things are bad when they are actually bad.

The only downgrade is the loss of sims if he doesnt come back. Could he be replaced by Fernandez? Or Stroud... maybe.

This is a young team that is always improving.
