4 AM? Please tell me you're in another time zone!

That's how the legal system works. When a lower ruling is reversed by an appeals court, the initial ruling is void. The final decision is the one that matters. Here, that the U.K. Supreme Court. Can there even be another appeal, to the European Court? Why would a defunct company do that?

Yes, Rangers could appeal. The only reason this case continued on was because HMRC continued to appeal. Rangers are spending money on lawyers for no reason. There is no purpose behind a new appeal.

Why would HRMC would appeal from a judgment that it had won?
I do agree that there appears to be no point to an appeal by Rangers to the euro courts, if any judgment is not going to be paid.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

That will have to be on aggregate.
Ageless Roy Carroll kept Celtic goalless in a wet second half. Could have conceded two or three more.
Bottles & coins tossed at Celtic players on corners by classless Linfield fans.

You know that Celtic fans do the same, right? They threw a bottle on a bus of rangers supporters and injured a kid just a couple years ago after the Rangers cup win. No noble Celtic supporters stepped forward to turn him in.

I could also link the YouTube video of Celtic fans throwing bananas at Mark Walters in the 90s. Or maybe I should link the video of the Celtic supporters mocking 9/11 while Claudio Reyna was about to take a corner kick...

There are lots of fans of all teams that suck. There are lots of fans of all teams that don't.

It's truly sad that a game which could have been played before 18,000 at Windsor Park, instead occurred in front of a fraction of that number, as Celtic refused its allotment & many Linfield fans stayed away as well. Att: 6,359.
Meanwhile, Celtic Park is already sold out for the second leg, with 1,500 seats reserved for Linfield fans.

I don't exclude Rangers supporters. I know quite a few. Some are wonderful human beings, others fall into the less desirable. There are no teams with exceptions to this; even among us Metros fans...

As noted previously, the "noble" Celtic supporters threw bananas on a field because a black player had a blue jersey on. Just last year, they didn't turn in one of their own that throw a bottle injuring a young girl that did the dastardly deed of sitting on a bus to get home from a game.

It's all great to say "we hate racism" now. That doesn't excuse the past. Nor does it excuse the fact that both fans have elements that should be relegated.

It's a dumb game to post link after link of the other team's asshole fans...

...As for the ticketing at Windsor Park, it seems that Celtic was on the wrong side of this and created the problem. Why refuse the allocation?

You had to go back 30 years for that one.

Just last year, they didn't turn in one of their own that throw a bottle injuring a young girl that did the dastardly deed of sitting on a bus to get home from a game.

Link? I saw reports about a young boy injured in a 2015 bus attack, where Celtic fans donated £4,000 for him.

Here's a Celtic supporter being racist towards a Rangers player:

I linked to the same incident. You neglect to mention that he was turned in by fellow Celtic fans.

As for the ticketing at Windsor Park, it seems that Celtic was on the wrong side of this and created the problem. Why refuse the allocation?

Celtic had reasonable concern for the safety of their fans, due to the leg being scheduled in south Belfast at the height of the annual raging season.
I hope Linfield fans have no problems in Glasgow tomorrow. Celtic increased the away allotment from 1,000 to 1,500, due to demand.

Do you think 30 years is a long time? It's well within my lifetime. It was 1989 and I was smart enough to know that throwing bananas at a black player is rather disgusting. The fact that a whole stadium was doing... Maybe now they have fans that woke up. Congratulations.

As for the bus incident, here is one: http://www.bbc.com/n...w-west-31091808 (Feb, 2015)

Those wonderful fans decided that the next time the teams played, they would do it again: http://www.dailyreco...son-mum-9111614 (Oct, 2016)

here's another link to the second story: http://www.mirror.co...ers-fan-9111583

Please note this piece where it mentions the prior bus incident where the criminal was yet to be found (the very opposite of being turned in by Celtic supporters)

In February 2015 schoolboy Kieran Duffy was bottled by a thug as he travelled to Hampden in a minibus.

The Rangers fan lost two teeth and was lucky not to be blinded when the vehicle was attacked.

Kieran was with dad Robert, 39, and twin brother, Declan, when the vehicle was surrounded by yobs as it was stopped in traffic on Cathcart Road.

They rocked the vehicle and forced open an emergency door before one thug launched a bottle inside.

It missed Declan by inches and bounced off dad Robert’s elbow before hitting Kieran’s face.

Despite a £1,000 reward being offered by a local businessman the suspect remains at large.

They did note that Celtic fans raised 4k GBP for the kid. But that's hardly a lot of money considering how much damage was done to the child. Just rather interesting that the teams meet and Celtic supporters can't help but attack children with bottles...

Every year Celtic is fined by UEFA for the acts of their fans. Every. Single. Year. Punch into Google "Celtic fine by UEFA" and you'll get all the results you need stretching back over years.

Ultimately, there is no such thing as the "good" side or the "bad" side. They are simply teams playing in a crap league. They may be teams with a long history of both good and bad behavior. Neither is exempt. Both took part in bigotry. Both have and had fans that are despicable. Both have and had fans that are nothing but spectacular. Trying to claim otherwise is dishonest.

I will tell you that from my own experience visiting Glasgow, I found people friendly from a variety of sides. However, the only people that I ran into that were complete assholes were Celtic supporters that decided that me walking down the street in a USA national team jacket was worthy of harassment. It's purely empirical and something I chose to not apply to the group as a whole.

Do you think 30 years is a long time?

Well, in NI, 325 years is still current ...

throwing bananas at a black player is rather disgusting.

Throwing cans & bottles at white players is also disgusting. BTW, this past season batteries were thrown at one of Celtic's black players by Rangers fans.

As for the bus incident, here is one: ...

OK. You previous referred to the young victim as a girl, and I could not find any link.
Bus attacks are not limited to one side. Nor is hiding criminals.

How much was raised by Rangers fans?

Every year Celtic is fined by UEFA for the acts of their fans.

If Rangers ever get back into Europe, its fans will be bringing disrepute charges back down on it.
Meanwhile, they were content with attacking their own team bus, after the debacle in Luxembourg.

We can agree on this.

Perhaps they saw red, white & blue as Rangers colours. If they verbally abused you as a Yank, then Fuck Them.

I agree with all that you stated. Ultimately, I just don't see one as "good" and one as "evil"...

As for my jacket, it's a red track jacket that says USA on the back. It has the USMNT logo on the front along with a gray line. But yes, the harassment came as a product of being American.
