So I cut the cord when I switched apartments last summer. Had MSG on the old account which I kept using for the last couple of months of last season but that’s gone now. So what do I do now for away games on MSG? MLS Live doesn’t work as MSG games would be blacked out, correct? Unless I get MLS Live and use a VPN to show as out of region? How does that work?

Any other options or any tips really? Would use the MLS Live/VPN option above or streams as a last resort but would rather something that I can watch directly on my TV without hooking up to a computer. I have a Roku and a smart TV, so anything app-based would be nice. Any help appreciated.

Frombar.tv ...... practically any live sporting event on the planet.  Use it on your cell or laptop/tablet and cast it on your tv.

Kodi (formerly XBMC) is awesome

https://kodi.tv/

You can install it on rooted Apple TV devices or Amazon Fire sticks. You can put a version of it (openelec) on a cheap Rasberry Pi device.

The MLS app that runs on it bypasses the broadcast flag and you're able to watch all the blacked out games (on UniMas, ESPN, Fox Sports). You still need your MLS Live credentials.

The MLSLive kodi plugin was broken by changes implemented for the 2017 season. The developer is working on it and hopes to have the fix pushed out as soon as possible:

It sounds like MLS is also being more strict with the blacked out games.

The fixed plugin has been pushed out to the main repos. Should be good to go for this weekend.
