I know this was mentioned a long time ago on here but I can't seem to find the thread related to this. Just wanted to revisit this topic with our stadium finally being complete.
Red Bull's brass definitely had a particular design in mind when they took over the project.. the similarities are striking.

I think the Hypo-Arena is larger by 7000 seats or so.

RIP Guillermo Romulo, Alexander Francis Orig, Celenio Eleazar, and my Mom, Resurreccion Eleazar.

RIP Cesar Castello, Mike Vallo, Glenn Stampiglia, Bob Paquette, and Warren Lee

I think RBA's roof covers more than its Austrian cousin.

"Obviously, I want to make a living (in soccer), to say the least," he said. "There's so much you can accomplish in the soccer world, and right now I'm focused on having a good season with the Red Bulls. Ultimately, our goal is to win the MLS Cup, and I see no reason why we can't." - #4 Tyler Adams

When it is time to reinvent the wheel, do you actually reinvent it, or do you copy the best one available and make some tweaks to enhance the original or to fit local customs (It took the german carmakers about 10 years to figure out that they were losing sales in the US because of their insistence that cars shouldn't have cup holders)?

Yeah but the Austrian stadium has trees and green areas around it! It's got nothing on Harrison's fenced empty lots! HA!

ugh, I had an 88 mercedes and the "cup holders" were an indentation in the glove box when the glove box was open. Needless to say, it didn't hold any cups steady

Now it's the RedBulls fans. they may be even louder than the DC guys who, for reasons beyond imagining, had 50 seats saved for them up front.

Philadelphia: I love you guys, really, but you're getting schooled.

The noise in here is deafening.

Same here with an old Audi. Come to think of it, not even a coin would stay in that indentation.

haha my '92 vw corrado has the same thing.. They're pathetic excuses for cup holders.

Although it was equipped with the old nifty coin slots right next to the shift gate.. it can hold up to 4 quarters
I'll never sell that fuckin car.

RBA can actually seat 30,000. The state of NJ only granted them a certificate of occupancy for 25,000 due to urban impact studies. Stover has also said that seating can be expanded to be about 32,000 if needed. Currently, the top two rows of the upper level are not sold and certain sections with bad sightlines are tarped over.

Next time you are there, from 101, look to the left and up and you will see the tarped over sections.

Friggin' state bureaucrats. If they were competent with their urban impact study they would have limited us to 12,500.

Couldn't they offer the "bad seats" to the blind for free or something like that? What was the point of having them installed if there's no intention to fill them?

I know plenty of visually impaired kids that would enjoy something like that just for the sounds.. and who can't afford to buy actual tickets.

The only problem is that the blind people would drive to the game, clogging New Jersey roads, and causing a fire hazard, and helping drive the local economy with their blind money. That's the real issue.

On Another Note, does anyone know off-hand the material the Klagenfurt arena's roof is made of?

Seen the tarps but they do not cover 5,000 seats or as you suggest about 15% of all seats (if capacity was 30,000). Yes it is higher than 25,000 but I would say closer to 26k than 30k.
