So these motherfucks who purchase a team years ago refuse to recognize history of the club.  Fuck red bull!  :)+

ummm....   I thought this was all put to rest with how well they handled the 20 for 20 thing, and a bunch of other stuff, like the duel metro/RB STH scarf

I agree. To say they haven''t recognized the history of the club is just flat out wrong. As i mentioned before, this year's STH cap has a Metro flag emblem on it. Our team colors are slowly changing to red/black. Our USL jersey was Metro-themed. Ect...

They have only recognized the history of this club because the fans have been vocal about doing so.

If nobody said anything about it these guys would wipe the metro stars from the history books.

They RELUCTANTLY recognize the history because they are forced to. And they are butthurt that there is a decent sized portion of the fanbase that identifies as Metro and not as Red Bull.

If they really cared about Metro theyd do more. If they REALLY cared theyd bring back the name and just slap their logo on everything.

Yes. They have only recognized the past because the fans have been vocal about it. Listening to their fans is a good thing, not a bad thing (even if it should have been done from the start...better late than never)

And no, they are not forced to do it at all. There was span of 6-7 years where there was barely recognized that era. They could have continued that direction. Only in recent years have they been honoring the past, to show the fans that they do care.

Edit: As I'm typing this, the official Red Bulls account just tweeted our draft pick with the caption "tfw when you're going to the Metro". AND the scarf they gave him is Red/Black with yellow trim...

Whatever happened to the old tarps from GS?

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

With the face of each the coaches from 1996-2012 on a tarp, similar to that ESC scarf from ~10 yrs ago.

Hey all - I took a bunch of photos of my stuff and was going back & forth with John/UptownBull on some of the the stuff I was thinking about unloading. He was pretty impressed with my collection. I want to share but it looks like the boards won't let me post photos. Before speaking to him, I wasn't all that impressed with my stuff but he felt differently. Needless to say if the Red Bulls ever wanted a museum for Metros, I may have some pieces to donate I suppose.

They didnt continue because in that 6-7 year period fans said WTF?

They would have continued on if not for the noise.

The fans said WTF from day 1 though. If anything, the fan noise about this stuff had kinda died down over the course of that time period.  It was still there , but not like it was building up to a point where they were forced to do something. At least that's how I saw it.

Yes he has awesome stuff! Things that should be visible in RBA for fans to connect with the team and its history.
