Cam is not local, but I'd like to keep him.   He's fun to watch, can take on defenders 1v1, and gets a cross in as well as anyone we have had for a long time.

I think the team can get a different look with Harper - the sort of player who you can sub in to a game where it looks like the opponent has you figured out, and immediately change how wide the team plays on the right, and force the opponent to respond. He also can play RB so thats a big plus.

Omir doesnt feel like a game changer to me as a sub. He's an attacker, but he doesnt give a different look for me. If you get rid of Manoel (who remember is only 21) then I guess you can keep Omir, but to me they are close to each other in skill and sort of redundant.

Basically, I think the choice is Omir vs. Manoel, not Omir vs. Harper.

Dont forget Omir could be 4th right back as well

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

would love a Mexican team to drop a mil or 2 for Frankie

100% agree. From your mouth to God's ears. Lol

We technically already have a better player in the bench - stroud.

Stat wise Fernandez #s are very interesting.

The leading goal scorers in MLS have roughly 39-42% of shots on target (sot)and the shot conversion (sc) % is around 14%-15%.

I think Fernandez should be one of our starting forwards. Manoel, burke and vanzier need to be let go. We need a big striker to partner with Fernandez.

Check this out:

Fernandez 42.5 % sot 15% sc
Manoel 39% sot 7.3% sc
Burke 27.3% sot 6.1 % sc
Vanzeer 20.8% sot 8.3% sc
Barlow 46.9 sot 9 % sc
Boulinga (lafc) 39.4 % sot 14.6% sc
White (van) 46.3% sot 15.8% sc
Vela (lafc) 41% sot 14.8% sc

That is one of the main reasons I want him to be our starting forward

I prefer wingers like harper, duncan and luq who can create chances off a dribble or get fouled a lot. That is why I am advocating for them to stay and have harper play up top.

With the addition of Forsberg, we just need a big body at forward that is willing to press and can be dangerous in the air.

Just fucking pay him..the optics of a homegrown player, leading goal scorer, whom doesnt get a proper offer for his contribution is worse damage, long term, especially if the RedBull brass is trying to promote the Academy! Give Omir a proper offer and sign real DPs around him.

This is a good point. Not something I considered.

you can play the RB system and be entertaining but you need transition kings like Harper.  Omir is weird in that i think he would do a lot better on a non RB team and our "pipeline" is strongest in his position group with Harper/Ngoma/Hall/Kasule all hybrid wingers.

Winger group of Forsberg/Morgan (if they actually think hes healthy), Omir and then all the kids previously mentioned i can live with.  as long as we move on from Burke, Barlow and Luqui.  And improve the quality there.

I actually think marsch had it right when he played him at forward.

If the team played him closer to goal, he should be a leading goal scorer candidate based on his % shot on target and shot conversion data. The coach needs to put him positions to increase volume of shots.
