DON'T BE A DICK.

We have very few rules for this ragtag collection of soccer fans. One rule, however, stands way above the rest and that is LARS RULE #1: Don't be a dick.

This applies both at the HDC, AND on these forums.

This is a friendly reminder.

Being a 'Dick' is subjective.

I'm sure this has a context...is it capybaras related?

The Dunning–Kruger effect is a cognitive bias in which "unskilled people reach erroneous conclusions and make unfortunate choices but their incompetence robs them of the metacognitive ability to realize it." The unskilled therefore suffer from illusory superiority, rating their own ability as above average.

In my opinion there is nothing wrong with constructive criticism, usually being a “dick” is an effective way of weeding out bad ideas.

Constructive criticism is valuable. Being a dick is not constructive, and there is a marked difference.

Do you mean that as stated in Post #2 of this thread that it's "Subjective"?

As the old saying goes:

"Everybody is somebody else's jerk"

It’s like post 2 but more serious like post 12; my post before last on this “thread” about being a “dick”.
