I'm having the surgery in a couple of weeks and am only supposed to be on crutches for 2 days

How long until you are match fit?

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

So, god willing, he'll be back in time for the Olympics & all, but, count on him missing all of April, and most if not all of May.

Aren't the Olympics not until August? He definitely should be back in 4+ months...
...although the loss to Canada throws a serious wrench into the U.S. even getting to the Olympics so it might be moot.

Meniscal repairs can be tricky. Some can recover in 2-3 weeks, others can linger for months.
There are factors that come in to play--such as area of the tear, the extent of the tear, the technique (and touch) of the Orhtopedic surgeon. Add to that if there was any other damage done with the injury. Also, sometimes, cysts and fluid build up (fusions) may form after the tear and during rehab--which would also lend to a delay in getting back to playing fitness.

According to Dyer

Juan Agudelo says he will have surgery Monday and "expects to be back in 3-4 weeks."

Not to split hairs, but a meniscus tear and an MCL tear are two very different things.
