Odds of a USA-Italy friendly next June?
We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Who's that 2nd from the right at the commentator's desk? None other than our former coach 'Clever' Hans Backe!

USA floating the idea of hosting a "NIT" tournament next summer with Italy, Netherlands, Chile, Ghana, etc (prior to the WC). I just watched the guys on ESPNFC ripping the idea, but I'm not really sure why. If these countries are going to play friendlies anyway, why not organize a mini-tournament? Maybe invite Wales, Ireland, and one other country and have two groups of four. Just another opportunity for the young guns to get more experience against historically good teams.
