i heard from a toronto native that patrick mullins retired. i wonder what it would take to get him to come back and play for an MLS club. get him on an 8 month contract until we can find a solution at forward.

After watching him play last season and watching our forwards play this season, he would be an improvement.

no easy solution to this. not much wiggle room roster wise.

RIP Guillermo Romulo, Alexander Francis Orig, Celenio Eleazar, and my Mom, Resurreccion Eleazar.

RIP Cesar Castello, Mike Vallo, Glenn Stampiglia, Bob Paquette, and Warren Lee

What do you mean? There is plenty of room.

No need to bring in Mullins when Fletcher hasn't even been given a fair shake yet. Mullins is like a Plan A B C D ..... W option

If fletcher was any good, he would have gotten playing time. His contract is almost up.

2/3 of the league has less goals scored than we do. If Mullins had anything left in the tank, one of those teams would give him a shot.

Being a better finisher than Klimala is not enough. We need a guy that can do what Klimala does (press, get into good spots) AND finish. Mullins cant do that. Mullins wouldnt get anywhere near the amount of scoring opportunities that Klimala gets bc Mullins wouldnt be able to get into the same spaces that Klimala does.

We need to upgrade Klimala if he cant get things going. Mullins wouldnt be an upgrade.

Mullins has 4 goals in the last 6 MLS seasons and just decided his legs are toast. This is a strange hill to die on elf lol Mullins isn't an upgrade over Barlow let alone Klimala or Fletcher

He was not healthy during that time period.

Continue to play barlow and klimala at forward and expecting them to score is the definition of insanity. And what does that say about Fletcher who cant start over them?

At this point, there is nothing to lose giving mullins a look. He is a cheap band aid option until they could find a longterm solution.

It was announced on 2/28 that it was a six month loan, with an option to buy.  There's something like 20 games until the loan is up.  Not only is there plenty of time to run him out there and evaluate him, they pretty much have to give him playing time given the lack of productivity from Klimala and Barlow.

Unless there's some injury or fitness issue that we're not hearing about, or Klimala/Barlow all of a sudden start actually scoring goals, look for Fletcher to play a much bigger role than what we've seen so far.

Most of klimala's shots were in the box. Any decent forward can and will find those spaces. Mullins can do that.

lets keep things simple. right now we just need someone who can finish.

At this point I want bwp to also be considered as an option.

Struber's comments regarding Fletcher indicate that his lack of playing time has been fitness related. He recently said he's been given the green light to give Fletcher more minutes. Time will tell, but Fletcher not starting is not due to lack of quality.

Struber said today that he was JUST given the green light by the team's fitness staff to play him without restraints. You are claiming that Struber has written him off before he was even ready to play a full 90.

Yeah when a guy spends 6 years unable to play regularly and then decides to retire - it means he's toast. You don't sign that guy, he literally can't play soccer anymore.

Wouldn't mind BWP on the roster at all. If Barlow has a role as a defensive forward, so can BWP as a non-defensive forward.

But yeah, Fletcher is likely to be starting very soon.

he has been barely used as a sub since he arrived. that is a red flag when your other two forwards have been poor. if he doesnt start against dallas that is a bad sign.

Fletcher only has 2 more months to really show that he belongs. The next transfer window is July 7, 2022 – Thursday, August 4, 2022. if Fletcher is nothing more than a bench players, we should not pay a transfer fee for him. the loan should end and a replacement should be signed.
