Of course, I wasn't making the point that it's impossible to beat them. But, that they are, without question, the best team in the league by a wide margin.

538's Global Club Rankings have LA right alongside Freiburg, Nice, and Tigres.

Their MLS #2, NYC, comes in alongside Sheffield Wednesday and Blackburn.

That's quite a gap.

Massive. I've never seen an MLS club ranked anywhere near #113 on that list before.

Is there another Phoenix Rising in the world, or is there a reason a USL club is ahead of most MLS teams at 239?

Drogba owns them. That's likely the only reason it's even in the conversation. They didn't even get past USL competition in the USOC to have a conversation if they can beat a MLS side.

They feature former academy and U23 player, Joe Farrell, former NYRBII players Jose Aguinaga and Junior Flemmings.

They currently have 38 points, two points less than Tampa Bay Rowdies and one point more than NYRBII.

Anyone who puts much emphasis on these things likely also judges how good a player will be based on their FIFA rating.

FIFA rankings are junk. I mean could you imagine a scenario where a confederation de facto uses those things to decide who gets a shot to make the World Cup? Preposterous!

Thank god for the disco.

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

Yeah I just read that too.  Fuck that guy, glad he's not going to play.

Don't blame me, I voted for Kodos.

Who would have thought a game in Orlando in July would be welcomed as an escape from a heat wave, lol...should be about 7-8 degrees cooler down there than in Harrison

Ass Dwyer took out Royer in a game and for most of the rest of the season.  Good that they've got him in their sites.

I'm glad we aren't playing this game at home this weekend, this heat is brutal.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

This far out, no game is a real "must win", but we're only 4 points above the playoff line, and I'd argue this is one of our easiest 3 games for the rest of the season.  We need points here.

Imo the easiest are:

vs Columbus (July 27)

vs Colorado (August 31)

@ Orlando (July 21)
