Top 2003 midfielder Caden Clark (@iamcadenclark) was training with the New York Red Bulls first team this past week. Clark starred for Barca Academy u-19's last year and is the highest rated player in his class that has yet to sign a professional contract. #RBNYMLS_19_RBNY.png #USYNT

Clark spent time with Wolfsburg and Rb Leipzig this summer and may still be trying to get a European passport.  The Red Bulls are not the only team interested however Sean McCafferty worked with him at Barca academy so the connection could help close the deal. #RBNY #USYNT

Bradley Wright-Phillips "I prefer it at Red Bull Arena, but it was OK. I could imagine it being good for a baseball crowd.

I did not realize at first that 2003 meant his birth year and not the last time he was a top midfielder

They could probably sign him to a USL deal without any issues. The USL window is open until the 15th. Maybe similar to what they did with Koffi last year.

In breaking #RBNY #USYNT news top 2003 prospect Caden Clark is joining the Red Bull’s organization. I’m working on the details be it academy or a pro contract. But can confirm he is joining the Red Bulls. Story at

to come.

Not the real Barça academy in Spain?

The New York Red Bulls previously kicked around Major League Soccer as the MetroStars with limited success. But after transforming under a new banner in 2005, the Red Bulls have become a force to be reckoned with in the Eastern Conference. The club has made leaps of progress since its previous incarnation and now has its focus on bringing the league title to New York. I know nobody is going to be happy until the first team is actually improved, but for what it is, this seems like a pretty big deal?

So our best Academy kid isn't from our academy....   I'll take it.   Of course, in two years he's playing @ Leipzig or Salzburg

best academy kid is from our academy in Tolkin.

Clark is similar level.  You don't get USYNT time and on top get invites to RBL and Wolfsburg because you are filled no current skill and less potential.

I for one am excited about this!!!!!

Kid probably could have signed with 10 different teams in both US (and maybe Europe).

Would be thrilled if he is good enough to play for RBL because that means we have 2 years of an Adams level player + 2 years of another Adams level player in Tolkin.

So what path are we looking at for Clark? 2 years in USL and then into the first team?
