End of year press day is today - should start getting some real news rolling in shortly.

Not much so far, Dylan Butler spoke to Murillo who denies any ongoing conversations about a Euro transfer.

600k-800k for Parker sounds decent. no idea if he has a Euro passport, if so, he can play anywhere.

RIP Guillermo Romulo, Alexander Francis Orig, Celenio Eleazar, and my Mom, Resurreccion Eleazar.

RIP Cesar Castello, Mike Vallo, Glenn Stampiglia, Bob Paquette, and Warren Lee

I don't see how you don't pay Long and Parker the same money.

Id prefer to keep Long over Parker. Sounds like theyre going to try and keep both, based on todays press conference.

It's 6 PM now. I'm genuinely surprised we haven't gotten the full team press release yet.

Dyer just published an article, cant read it all since its the athletic and Im a cheap fuck but says Collin, Redding, and Rivas will be cut which will free up over a mil of cap space. No surprise there and a good thing. Says the cap space will be used to keep the team together and mentions Parker, hope so that would be worth it.

I was happy to see Sacha go, but in hindsight, that's got to be one of the most lopsided trades in a long while.  Paying to have someone else sign the MLS assist leader in exchange for Rivas and Redding who provided literally no value.

If you scan YouTube looking for Bradley Wright-Phillips, youll find numerous goal compilations, a few interviews and, eventually, an excerpt from the grime mixtape series Lord of the Mics.

Well that Sacha trade was freaking brilliant. Given the funny money we threw in we would've been better off just letting him go on a free transfer.

Oh and is there any chance we can go out and spend big on a proven difference maker who doesn't completely and totally suck when the money is on the line? Yeah, that would be nice.
Let's Go Buffalo!!!

while the trade sucked in isolation, if Redding wasn't such a train wreck I don't think they would have traded for Parker.  Knowing we had Champions League and then seeing how everything looked in camp they knew they needed to drop coin on a stud.
I still honestly want to know what happened to Redding though.  I remember watching him at the U20 world cup thinking he looked like a decent prospect who may not go abroad but will be a good MLS defender for a while.  I don't get how he regressed so much in Orlando and then here with the same coaching system that has done wonders with centerbacks.

Redding burnt out. Mentally he checked out and focused all his attention to his video games (no joke).

He could still end up playing in the USL for a team that builds out of the back and doesn't press as much.

Shame we did not get more, but in principle the trade made sense. Get rid of an aging guy one year early instead of one year late, especially when his style of play does not fit what you are trying to do. Given how successful we have been developing players, I thought those guys had a high chance of succeeding here.

Even though it was a complete whiff, we still were the best team in the league so it is tough to get too upset.
