I think so. Klimala could very well be prolific/productive with the change of scenery. Fabio is intriguing as well. Much more re-assuring than hoping White and Barlow can get the job done.

How many other teams in MLS have two big, fast, athletic guys paired up top?   I can see defenses being very intimidated, especially if Edwards and Gutman can provide the service they've been brought in to provide from wide areas, and Baby Clark is giving them stuff to worry about up the middle.

Last 3 positional battles for a 1st choice XI? All 6 guys here are probably going to get a decent amount of minutes regardless

Yearwood vs. CCJ for the other 8 spot opposite Clark

Nealis vs. Reyes

Duncan vs. Edwards

I think you are right if its the 442. A couple points:

  1. I think that it will be Nealis vs. Reyes vs. more CBs come summer. I still think Long might be sold. I would think he's pushing for it ... seems like his only shot to secure a spot on the WC team. Even if he isn't sold, I expect a potential starting CB being picked up in the Summer window - if Long is sold, I'd bet on two potential starting CBs being picked up.
  2. I'm very happy Duncan had these few weeks to make his case. I feel like after last week, he's unexpectedly in the lead there.
  3. I did not peg Davis as a locked in starter, but he looked very organized and composed against Chicago - defensively putting himself in positions that were needed to fill gaps in the formations.

I dont think its as much a question of talent as much as it is how these players fit in the formation and play style

CCJ just seems like he would be better suited in a possession based 4-3-3, or in a more conventional set up where he isnt required to be as mobile. With the $$ investment into Yearwood, I expect him to be starting as soon as he is 90 fit

The only things stopping Duncan from having the RB spot locked down, and what probably motivated the Edwards loan signing, are his untimely defensive lapses and his inability to provide the width that Struber wants from his fullbacks
