The rumors swirled on a uneventful morning...
Could it be? Could the most popular footballer with the nasal whine and cameo to his self-titled film about an Indian girl and the chick from Pirates of the Caribbean be joining the Los Angeles Galaxy?
The rumors became reality and the more I read the more I sensed the poignant smell of roadkill on it: he's bringing a circus with him and something something Tom Cruise.
I realized I was a handful of people who thought the level of attention he was bringing to the Galaxy was NOT the "type" of attention I personally wanted for my team.
But, nay, many were fellatiously thrilled at the prospect of selling more jerseys, writing the word GOLDENBALLS on a banner and watching the god-awful Posh Cums to 'Murica special on NBC.
What's that? Will Smith, Tom Cruise and their beards (wives) hosted a party for him and his wife and lookit how they are pretending to be straight? But I digress.
The Hollywood / Brand Beckham thing grinded on me. I wasn't a snobby "been a fan since '96" douchenozzle, was I? What does Bex hope to accomplish besides lining the panties of prepubescent teens? And then the ESPN happened: and some up and coming Chelsea player hurts him and then something with we can't have another player cuz he's sucking up all the cap space and Donovan's not happy and something with Josh (who, for the record, did not need my bail money).
And then the lies. The lies about commitment.
All he did was confirm that I in fact was the '96 douchenozzle... For years my money and my heart went to MY LA teams... Whether it's the Lakers, Dodgers, Kings or Galaxy (not the Clippers because come on), and here is this pompous asshat saying one thing and doing quite another. He doesn't want to be on the team, let him leave. But SILVERNUTS knew that Hollywood was his IN to a nice retirement after pro soccer. He's not stupid.
As a fan, I hated him and his circus for it. Still do...
And then the book from the bald white guy, I'm not opening another tab for it... Insightful... Nefarious...
I would've liked Beckham more, if we woulda won more... Soccer is one of those sports that can't be objectively measured by personal stats unlike baseball, basketball, hockey... His biggest stat was DISTRACTION...
"Well gee Carlos something something Beckham, awesome, jersey sales, back to back championships?"
No, if we're going to credit anyone, Bruce Arena, Landon Donovan...
Donovan got 3 rings with the Galaxy... 3...
I guess it's like the whole Ray Lewis thing: Ray is getting blown left and right by the media while the greatest TE in the history of the NFL quietly is retiring... Did you know London Fletcher's career stats are slightly better that Ray-Ray? Who? Same thing with Beckham....
Now he leaves us and I can't say that I'm pleased... I'm fucking delighted...
TL;DR
My nephew knows shit about soccer, but bought a Beckham jersey... "He's my favorite scorer!" There you go...

Go AFC... Fuck Frisco...
Why? Because Ray Ray is religion-crazy...
He reminds me of the dude that got his eye popped out in Season 1 of Eastbound and Down...
You know Ray Ray done fucked up over and over and spouts off religiosity as denials...
