Were you at the CR game in RBA?
How about the Gold Cup final at GS?

It's not the same roster, this team has shown it can win.

I was actually at the USA-CR game at RBA in 2017.

My impression was that the majority of fans were CR supporters.

The CR supporters gave the CR team the momentum which increased with each goal they scored. Throughout the game CR seemed to have more hop to their steps, and more fight in them. They outplayed us and the final score (0-2) was a fair indication of that.

The USA was flat. They did not get any momentum boost from the USA fans who were outnumbered.

The referee was not influenced by either fan group, which was a negative to us because crowd support occasionally influences refs.

My conclusion- We probably would have lost the game if it was played in Anchorage. However the RBA venue did not help us, and it makes sense in the future to go to venues that have the potential to help us.

I was actually there too, sat in 118 directly across from 101, the USA fans were not outnumbered, that's absolutely bs.

If the US doesn't shit the bed in that game the away team fan bs excuse would never have even been talked about. I'll never not find it absolutely embarrassing that they have pinned that loss on the fans. It's so embarrassing.

It's the same nonsense with Rangers fans showing up at Devils home games. Yes there's always a lot of them but the Devils fans are never outnumbered.

I won't deny that there was a decent amount and they were loud but outnumbered my ass...

I honestly disagree.  We need to get out of this mindset.  Against Mexico, maybe.  Against the bottom two teams in the Oct, I do not think we need to manufacture fake advantages.

Seriously, if we can't beat Honduras or El Salvador at home, no matter what city it is how is this team gonna perform in the world cup?

All of this bs is weak excuses. It makes USA soccer come off as mentally weak. Oh no there might be a few hundred Costa Rica fans at RBA making noise. Oh no we lost cause the US fans weren't so loud.

These things being normalized as excuses as to why that 2017 team shit the bed is absolutely embarrassing.

We had shots, RSL had 0 shots in 120 minutes plus all the extra stoppage time yet managed to find a way to win in penalty kicks. Must be nice lol

They announced two more home games. Absolute bullshit that Columbus gets another game. So fucking annoying and absolutely bullshit the east coast doesn't get a game. Cowards...

USA vs El Salvador - 1/27 - Columbus
USA vs Honduras - 2/2 - Saint Paul

How many times did he score in postseason? 9 times, including some insanely huge ones in 2014.

Let's not forget how massive he was in the 2017 OC run as well.

Let's take a better look at that...

20 games played in the playoffs for us, 18 of those were starts, 4 of those 9 goals were scored in 2014 so taking out 2014 that's 5 goals in 16 games.

Going though the years that weren't 2014 in which I fully admit he scored clutch goals...

2013 - 1 goal - vs Houston at the 2nd leg at home, rookie year here, don't place any of the blame on him for that miserable loss

2015 - 1 goal - meaningless goal in stoppage time when we were already up 1-0 in the 2nd leg at home vs DC

0 goals vs Columbus

2016 - 1 goal - meaningless goal in the 77th minute of leg 2 vs Montreal when we were already down 3-0. Missed a huge chance at the end of the 1st leg in stoppage time to get us out of there with an away goal.

2017 - 2 goals - 1 vs Chicago in the knockout round. 1 vs Toronto in the 2nd leg in Toronto but that was Royer shooting the ball into BWP which then deflected in. He had a glorious chance to put us up 3-2 on aggregate that he couldn't finish.

2018 - 0 goals, 4 games started vs Columbus and Atlanta

2019 - 0 goals, came off the bench in Philly and played 30 something minutes

Champions league...

14 appearances, 4 goals

Open cup...

11 appearances, 5 goals

Taking out 2017 which he came up huge and that's only 1 goal in 6 appearances.

I still love the guy and he was clutch as hell in the regular season but besides the 2014 playoffs and that 2017 open cup run he simply didn't get it done when it mattered most in knockout games. Is it all his fault? No, but he was certainly part of the problem when we needed him most in those other knockout games.

No statue for me though because of no cups in any fashion.

In the early days of this team we a played a playoff game against Chicago at Giant Stadium where we won with 10 seconds left. It was a joyous moment in Metro history.  This loss has to be second worst loss with only the other loss to the Worms where we had the lead and let game slip away.

We have had way worse losses than this in the playoffs. This team was expected to do absolutely nothing in the playoffs and most of us were surprised they were even there.

I don't feel like going down a shitty memory lane but there are tons of losses from 2010-2018 in the playoffs that are way worse. Especially all 3 seasons we got bounced after winning the Shield. All of which I rank higher in frustration than even the 2019 Philly loss.

I don't think I'll ever get over that 2013 shield team losing to that absolute dog shit Houston team.

What's the best / safest lot to park in?

Lot A, if that's full Lot J. Just tell them you with the Red Bulls fans and they will direct you to everyone else.

I'll be making the drive down instead of the bus do to prior plans. From what I recall in Chester, there is an away parking lot? Or at least the lot where they park the away buses in and those driving can park near there? I just want to make sure we're with our supporters prior!

#1394555 Edwards going back to Stoke?

I'm so confused - is he still here or back at Stoke for the playoffs?
If he's gone, thats a huge blow to our chances, slim as they are.

That post was sarcasm lol he's still here to whenever our playoffs end

They haven't told us where to park yet, I'll let you know when the email comes with that info.

Supporters group members check your email, got my tickets for the game, awesome that the team is covering the tickets. They are also covering the buses but I went with ticket only cause the bus ride adds so much more time to my day.

Is it better to sit with the visiting supporters for this game? Or is it ok to get tickets elsewhere in the stadium?

That's really up to your personal preference but being in the visiting supporters section has ruined sitting anywhere else for me. I can't be bothered with the possibility of being around some jackass yelling at me all game or trying to start something cause I have different colors on. Much more fun to just be in the visiting supporters section and not have to worry about that shit.
