We now have 5000 midfielders. I don't get what the plan is here. I'd rather they had just invested in one really, really good winger.

We are transitioning from our current 3-6-1 formation to a 1-8-1

Duka can play any of the 3 midfield positions in a 4-2-3-1. So essentially he's cover for Sacha/Royer/whoever else.

I think Bezecourt is cover for any of the CMs who aren't DMids.

This remains the eternal problem with this club. Press coverage is inconsistent. Sometimes we get answers, but most of the time we get snippets or nothing at all. MLS needs to learn from the NFL and make access to the press part of the deal.

NFL teams' press coverage is rarely more than snippets and platitudes. We already get that from Marsch and players' interviews. Not sure what more you think or expect you would get. No team would or should reveal more their real future plans or acquisition strategies than is already obvious (e.g. we need a good CB).

He does lead USL in assists and chances created. Could take pressure of Sascha, maybe make him more effective.

I was honestly surprised this didn't happen during the off season.

Does he have his green card? Who/what did we trade to open an INTL slot? Did we waive someone? Ndam?

Long was one of the best defenders in the USL last year, signed to MLS deal. Has worked out.

Bezecourt has been one of the best midfielders in the USL this year, signed to MLS deal. Worth a shot.

I wonder if he'll see more or less time than Duka.

OR could be an Andre Akpan/Ray Kinsella... but you gotta give it a shot at some point

It also makes sense to acclimate players now when you expect their role to grow in the following season when current players may no longer be with us. o
