I would say Armas and Red Bull are committed to Buckmaster as the right back for the near future. Since Murillo has been unable to lock down the starting spot due to attitude, mental lapses, etc, Armas has decided the future is now. I can see that viewpoint if youre already eliminated from playoff contention, but this is a team that should literally be leading the East if not for badly dropped points. Ride Murillo for the remainder of the year and see how far you can go. Drop him in December and plan on going with Buckmaster in 2020.
He's up to 3 goals and 3 assists in 10 games (all starts) this season. That's pretty good!
However, the team has a record of 2W-4D-4L when he starts. That's pretty terrible!
I think both sets of stats will normalize with a larger population of starts for CCJ: scoring will get a little colder, but team record will get better. My question is this: is CCJ now a starter from here on out? I think he should be!
What is the big fucking deal about the change from a corner to a throw-in? It happens ALL THE TIME!
Nothing. This is on NYCFC. They switched off. After Callens quit complaining he is nonchalantly walking back to goal. They were clearly expecting the Red Bulls to set-up for a corner. You cant switch off. An opponent could have just as easily taken a quick, short corner rather than our quick throw in.
I dont get this. If he came to MLS, developed his game a little bit more, he could be playing in the epl or Bundesliga
If he leaves Europe now to return to MLS it's not likely he'll get a return call to Europe, at least not at an EPL, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 level. He's better off playing in a lower level European league, earning regular playing time, honing his game and getting noticed by a larger team with a need to fill.
Imminent sale? Doubtful. I'm interested to see if RBG will feel forced to loosen their purse strings if the league makes substantial changes during the next CBA, particularly regarding salary spending / cap. Heaven help the organization if NYCFC wins a Cup before the Red Bulls. It would destroy us in the NY metro market.
