LARS Web/Forum/Social Media - READ!

14 March 2013 - 11:58 AM

So, as part of the LARS 3.0 as I call it, I'm helping out in getting a coherent social media strategy and web content strategy going. The goal is to have a lot of good Galaxy-related content available on our website that will attract fellow Galaxy and soccer fans to us and our awesomeness, and convert those to more people standing with us. It's all about more LARS in the stadium. I also want to do something with our forum presence, which I'll get to.

You can do a few things to help out without lifting your ass from your chair.

Follow our social media pages. The more fans we have the better, even if you never log in (though I'd encourage you to log in and participate!)

Facebook

Twitter

Instagram

Google+

If you can also like/share/retweet/etc as often as possible, it will help get our message in front of the most people and turn casual types into new LARS.

Go to www.lariotsquad.org and encourage others to. We are slowly ramping up content like previews/wrapups/guest blogs, etc. The goal with the site is to attract an audience far beyond LARS and get people looking for Galaxy content, and then let them see how awesome we are once they are there.

El Mon's friend Lange volunteered his own time and did a KICK ASS redesign of the site. We're still working on some more tweaks/modifications that will help the experience, but if you haven't seen it yet definitely check it out and keep checking it for new content.

I have no idea how possible this is, but I REALLY WANT to be able to have forums like this on the new site. I need to investigate that, but it is a big goal. I want the forums to be re-energized like they were in their heyday and live on the new lariotsquad.org.

So anyways, that's what's going on. I really miss having one place where everybody breaks shit down before/after each game, and we've all talked about "the death of the forums" and "everybody is using Facebook" etc.... my ultimate goal is to get ALL of those different forces working TOGETHER so that we have a community that thrives instead of being divided across the internet. It's a slow process and a gradual rollout of all of these things. We're all volunteers and have to make this stuff happen in down time, but the big picture looks really, really cool.

Please help out and like/share the above and if you have any ideas on how we can make all that happen by all means lemme (or El Mon) hear it!

Chivas USA to OC rumor looks real

23 April 2012 - 05:37 PM

A person that I trust told me today that Chivas USA is moving to somewhere in OC. This came from the CUSA FO to that person's work, as part of discussions for a partnership, and that it's been decided, the question is just exactly where and exactly when.

I just did a quick Google search on CUSA and OC, and a few things come up that paint a picture of this being true, and this stood out most to me, published about a week ago:

Santa Ana Sentinel

I did some more quick searching and CUSA is reaching out to the OC community a lot lately:
