If Kaku, Murillo, and Long all go, Long and Murillo most likely gone. Kaku probably >50% chance

New GK
New RB-Parker-New CB-Lawrence
CCJ-New DM
RW??-New CAM- Royer
Jørgensen/white/Barlow/new #9

Possibly a 2 striker formation, pairing one of the HGs/Jørgensen with a target #9

Think it would be a folly to rely on Valot to be healthy and reclaim a regular starting X11 spot after two separate new surgeries, this team is infinitely better if Davis, Muyl, Buckmaster become valuable depth as the talent level in the league continues to increase.

Team is set at GK if Robles leaves with Meara and Louro. Meara could just as easily have been the starter all these years.

i can easily see BWP go to one of our rival teams in the east after we totally botch up the contract renegotiations and give them 1-2 quality years before retiring. If he rehabs right Philly has the midfield to provide him adequate service.

We spent too much money on Jorgensin for them not to give him a bunch of first team mins and White has shown he can play for pennies on the dollar (which ownership probably loves)

Our deep CM position needs to be addressed above all. Its the jenga piece that is collapsing everything.

Need to keep Parker. Theres no coincidence his and most players form dipped after Adams left. He was our cornerstone

5 year plan

If we are going total rebuild as people hear seem to want to do, is get rid of Royer. Trade/sell him while he still has some value. Id retain Davishes quietly serviceable/defensively solid. If Valot can recover and stay healthy hes worth keeping around. Jorgenson looks like a horrible investmentwhich is saying something given BWPs decline. But I dont see much point in retaining him with White and Barlow playing well (except to hope to recoup investment someway somehow).

Im confused why anyone is even considering Jorgensen as part of the full team roster for next year.

White as the starter w Barlow and BWP on the bench.

Jorgensen has to start converting more at the USL level if he wants a sniff.

Weve had a vacuum at the other outside mid spot and hes our second best scoring option.

Also, you want to keep some consistency.

So I dont agree with that move at all.

If ... total rebuild ... get rid of Royer.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

If its a total rebuild Im assuming winning wont be a priority plus Im not sure what hell be like in two years. See BWP drop off.

Royer is 29, BWP is 34. Royer's at the spot in his career where he's too old to have much resale value to other teams, but is young enough that we can assume he's got a few years left in his legs. Even if we're clearing out the roster for a rebuild, Royer's one of the guys I'd keep at his current contract.

You might be right, but we also got rid of Dax when he was 29 and RBNY seems to have a quota on players above 27 or so.

Edit on the other hand we bought Kljestan when he was 29 so who the heck knows?

Im concerned about Kakus affect on the locker room. If hes cools playing for a new coach fine. If not, see ya.

If the new coach isnt going to play a full out press like Marsch and/or isnt going to play Murillo as an outside mid then Murillo needs to go. Hes given up way too many cheap goals.

Has kaku been an issue recently? Ever since the Paraguay copa America snub... he has manned up, grew a pair, and is playing good soccer.

I think murillo needs to rebuild himself with rb 2 or he needs to be loaned out to salzburg in the offseason. Maybe marsch can fix him. He is still young but He is playing like a broken, no confident defender.

We had guys in Adams & Davis that needed playing time and, more importantly, were cheaper than Dax, when we traded Dax. Not sure we have those level players under Royer. That said, in the unlikely event that Simms stays, I could see Royer being moved.

Royer might have a year or two left in the wing position. He might be able to extend his playing nyrb career if he is moved to cf after next year.

iirc, JCO left before Copa America, so once hired Berizzo only called up Euro based guys, South American based guys and the left footed twin that played in China (now playing alongside his twin at San Lorenzo). the MLS Paraguayans were omitted. all that said, Kaku is definitely playing well, but his intention, imo, is pretty clear. he's playing this way so some team buys him. cool with it as long as RBNY profits and receives, if it still exists, $650k GAM. same goes for Long and Murillo, sell to make back what was invested, and to ensure getting the $650k GAM.

only leagues that spend like that in the Western Hemisphere are the Liguilla teams in LigaMX and a couple of teams in Brazil.

Also "total rebuild" doesn't hold as much weight in MLS as it does in other leagues like the NBA where a team can be shit for 50 years and make no progress.

We were last in the east in 2009 and the best team in the east in 2010, all any team in MLS needs to be go from terrible to great is the right coaching staff and a few key additions. Which is the exact two things we are missing this season. Exact reason to keep Royer imo.
