BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! That window is CLOSED.

You would say that if you were staring at a wide open window.

Once again, highly dramatic.

We've been a perpetual playoff team for a decade under those slumlords, what (other than unrelenting pessimism) makes you think this group is the last and final chance at a title?

For half of that they actually did spend money. Post 2015 they essentially made the call that we will never spend money on a significant DP ever again and the only things we will spend money on are spec buys like Jorgensen who are not intended to benefit us, they are intended to benefit their European outfits. And the saving grace of us being far ahead of the curve with the acadamy no longer exist because almost everyone else has caught up and our acadamy is pretty much imploding and will soon be miles behind the one of that other team. And don't leave out that in the next 5 years MLS is going to expand to 7,000 teams which will make winning it all way way harder than today.

Im saying what I see.

Even during this string of good results all I see is a bunch of guys standing around with no clue as to what they should be doing. Bizarre lineup decisions. Injuries. No clear tactical game plans. Game plans that dont work. You can put lipstick on a pig but...these results will turn on us eventually. Happens to all mediocre MLS teams. They win a string of games they shouldnt then go cold again. Dont be fooled by these results.

This whole thing started falling apart when Jesse left. And even when he was here this team still made a mess in their pants every postseason.

Other than complete dumb luck there is no way we win MLS cup as currently constructed. And I dont see Red Bull firing Armas or brining in any real players. And I dont see another miazga or Adams in the academy.

So yes, from what I see the window is closed and the future is bleak. But vodka helps and Ill keep singing.

The big problem is this: right now we have a window of opportunity to win a title that looks like it is going to shut very soon. We DID NOT need to use a DP slot on a spec buy who had played like a dozen pro games in his life and hope he can develop into something years from now. That slot needed to be used on someone who can make a difference NOW. But really we all know the truth: the Soda Slumlords aren't concerned about our success, our job isn't to win it's to produce players for their other teams that they actually give a damn about.

Jorgensen was signed using TAM. The DP slot is still available, if they want to use it...

OK I was under the impression he was a DP (I had seen numerous people say he was a DP) but was unaware of how the corrupt MLS salary rules and mechanisms befitting your average banana republic allowed a guy who I believe is being paid at a DP level to not count as a DP. But it still means that the resources are not being spent on a player who can help us now, which is absurd.

We don't know his salary yet, but it might not actually be a DP salary. The team could just be buying down the transfer fee with TAM.

Give the kid time. If you want to develop players, you buy them young. Sometimes it doesn't work out, but it's far too soon to tell with Jorgensen.

still holding out the slight hope that we get Weah on loan as a DP for 6-18 months.

We are tied for the 2nd best goal differential in the league after tonight. This is not the best team weve had, but they are a competent, competitive, playoff caliber team. Your penchant for pessimism causes you to over dramatize the situation.

We have a good amount of competent, competitive, playoff caliber players. More so than some teams. Doesnt change my feelings about our prospects of winning MLS Cup this year or in the immediate future.
