Bad sign: Gloster got called up to the big USYNT summit that starts January 2.  He's listed as "Unattached."

Gloster's gone.  MLS has to figure something out so teams stop losing their top-tier youth players.

Sometimes kids r getting bad advice.

It's really hard if your a foreign talent to develop abroad. Foreign slots are limited and euro teams import dozens each year.

Pay them?

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

With everyone freaking out in the US over us missing the world cup, I think every kid is going to try to figure out a way to go overseas.  It sucks... And it's the worst part about us not qualifying.

Instead of just chalking it up as a fluke with shitty coaching and not having good CB options, stupid people want to overhaul the thinking.  It's wrong and only going to do more damage.

Young guys challenging themselves abroad is hardly a bad thing for the USMNT. Not everyone will be Pulisic, obviously, but that's how you get to the next level if you're good enough. With the new format, we'll make 20 out of the next 20 World Cups, and promptly lose at the last 16 in all 20, if people never strive to be better than MLS.

Top young talent leaving early is not great for MLS, admittedly.

Or signed with an agent similar to that of Simonian...

Sometimes you can't do anything about a kid wanting to leave to go to Europe as that's probably their dream. You aren't gonna get every kid but there's no doubt MLS and the academies can do more to foster the development of these kids here.

An RB have done more for HG players than anyone.    We've had games with Lade, Adams, Davis, and Etienne all on the field at once.   Can't keep 'em all.
