I know this was a signing with the long-term in mind, but it's an extremely bad look that:

1. Barlow starts ahead of him

2. Etienne is subbed in as lone striker instead of him

He's effectively 5th on the striker depth chart right now. That's ugly.

Jesse has had similarly bad runs in terms of outcomes on the pitch, but the play was never this listless and the issues seemed relatively easily fixable (better defense, better finishing). Under Armas, we haven't created a lot offensively in the last month or so, and there seems to be no light at the end of the tunnel.

What's the plan, hope that Bezecourt turns into Xavi tomorrow? Signing new players is months away and we might be out of the playoff picture at this rate. We lost Adams and BWP is 6 months older, but that shouldn't be the difference between a points record season in 2018 and missing the playoffs in 2019. (Also, BWP has been starved of service so I don't buy that 6 months are the difference between him scoring 20 and not getting a sniff either. Get him the ball in good positions and he'll score 15+ again.)

I'm all for continuity and sticking with the system, but if Armas can't light a fire under players to get them to perform better, and soon, he needs to go. Maybe not after 6 games, but the leash has to be shorter than a full season, surely.

What does any of this have to do with firing Dennis Hamlett?

Blowing everything up because of six bad games when this has been one of the best-run organizations in the last 5 years. The epitome of fan knee-jerk emotions.

Would be a waste for Long to go to Osterreich. ENG SPA ITA GER FRA should be the destination countries for him, imo.

Just my preference, but I'd rather play for Salzburg than, like, Augsberg or Celta Vigo. In one instance, you're joining a team with a system you know and playing continental football. In the others, you're nothing more than a hired gun tasked with avoiding relegation and nobody gives a shit about you beyond that
