A move to China wouldn't exactly put him closer to his family. LOL

Suddenly we are shopping him and have no interest in retaining him? Doesn't make sense.

I'm not sure what to believe about any of this.

MLS Transfers' unreliability aside, RBNY will want to create as much leverage as they possibly can. Even if Kaku has zero desire to go to China, being able to say that another club is willing to pay X Amount helps their cause.

seems like a lazy thing to accuse someone of on a soccer forum of all places.

You misspelled "racist."

Hard to judge Kaku without knowing the entire background of his motivation here, but this isn't good. Even if the club makes a profit on the sale I don't see how you spontaneously acquire a player of similar quality and integrate him in time for it to mean anything this season.

Becoming a selling league (and team) doesn't mean selling at first and every opportunity. They've held their ground on Lawrence, Davis, and Murillo, and people seem to forget that the club offered Miazga a massive raise to stay with the team instead of departing for Chelsea. Even with the most cynical view, it makes zero sense for RBNY to sell Kaku now unless the offer is impossible to turn down. They trust their system and have to know that a full season where he's acclimated plus CCL and international appearances will only boost his value. Selling now makes no sense.

In Topic: CM is our biggest issue

I don't see how CM can be the biggest issue when the club went into the postseason last year with the league best defense on an incredible run of form and having an all-star CM in Adams -- AND they still couldn't get it done.

It shows you that no matter how good the defense and your defensive-minded midfielders are, you need to score goals to win titles. Offense is by far the #1 need again and it's not even close.

Unless you can bring in a CM that will score 10+ goals next season, getting a big splash winger or forward to play next to BWP is required and in my opinion more important.

I just want to point out how stupid this is by extending this logic. Based on your thought process, if RBNY had lost every single player this offseason except for BWP and Royer, your argument would assert that acquiring an attacking player is the team's biggest need. After all, we had a great GK, great defense, and great midfield and that still wasn't enough. The problem was offense. So therefore offense is the biggest concern.
