That RSL team has talent... Glad is awesome, Schuler is a good player, Plata is great.  He could do decent things with that team.

Did management bring him in exactly for this situation??

RSL fans on reddit think so.

Mike Petke will win an MLS cup as coach before RBNY.

To go with the one he won as a player for the Scum.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Was hoping he would return if Marsch ran off to Austria. Guess not.

Can we trade Veron for Petke?

At the RSL introductory press conference Petke said he has still never been given a reason from RBNY for why he was fired.

At the presser Petke was asked, "What is your offensive philosophy?"  His response was, "to score goals."  I think that sums up why Mike is not here.  For better or worse, the global sporting director of football at Red Bull was always going to want a more cerebral coach after Henry left.

Good luck to Mike.

Exactly. Heard that RSL was looking for a coach who has a rep for being a disciplinarian. They got what they were looking for. Guess Cassar's culture he built in the locker room will be def different now that Petke's running things.

I'm really afraid for Petke without a Fraser or Fraser-like assistant. I am suspecting that Fraser was the brains behind Petke, as well as Kreis in RSL and Vanney now in Toronto.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I love Mike Petke.

It's not really a hot take. I always thought it was assumed that Petke was the man motivator and Fraser was the X's and O's guy behind the scenes.

As long as he's got an Xs and Os guy, they'll have a better chance. Roster has a few holes from what I gather.

Would they like a Veron for 200k in allocation $$?

Petke said he won't take the reigns until Monday. Shore will coach the team this weekend against the Loons.
