NJ now adding probables to the death toll.
Official totals: >13,000 dead, >170k +.
Adding 1,854 probables, deaths close to 15k.

We are good enough to beat the best teams, and bad enough to lose to the worst teams.

Clear messaging and aggressive measures from the onset have helped some countries out.

Meanwhile we cant get people to wear a mask.

Fortunately, our region leads the way in mask wearing, according to this poll.

I think were in an okay place. Although walking up Washington Street in Hoboken on a Saturday night is a horror show.

Im more worried about the south. I have family down there with pre existing conditions and it infuriates me to think that people are just completely disregarding science and putting them at risk.

Back when I lived in Hoboken, my friend and I would refer to Washington Street as The Walking Dead. I think overall we're in a good place (relative to almost anywhere else in the country), but I do worry about places like Hoboken, Jersey City, Morristown, etc. as things start to slowly open up. Anywhere that young people tend to congregate and drink.

I speak to friends and family who have relocated to other parts of the country (Florida, Colorado, Arizona, etc.) and I do worry, as well. Not so much for their health, as they are all, fortunately, healthy, but for the health of those at risk in those regions and for how long this is going to drag out at such a pace with people not taking it seriously. I hope all of your family stays safe.

Right back at you.

We have a mayor here in Hoboken who has taken things very seriously. We closed things down immediately and as a result we had much better numbers than the rest of Hudson county. But there is a level of control now and we dont want our great local businesses to fail so its time to reopen. Unfortunately to the dismay of many residents the weekends (and some weekdays!) we are getting flooded with a younger crowd that either doesnt believe in science or just doesnt care.

Weve had multiple days in a row without a single case. Our last death was I dont even know when and we didnt have many of those thank god.

Now that we are open the numbers are very slowly starting to tick up. To be expected, but I hope we can keep it under control before having to shut down again. That is largely in the hands of peoples personal behavior.

At least, armed ones:

Not unexpected. Article says it is reciprocal.
Does it apply to UK?

Just as well. I had already cancelled my plans.

deeply concerned ;-)  by this tweet as it appears Ryan Meara is shirtless in July in Orlando playing bean bag toss.
Guy is risking heat stroke and 2nd degree burns!!!!

If the players keep testing negative for coronavirus, why do they need to wear masks? They are going to practice near each other without them on -- then be required to put them on everywhere else?

Some of these photos/videos that the league and its teams are putting out seem staged, particularly the mask wearing. I doubt they are walking around everywhere with them on in the 90 degree heat and humidity.

Is Armas gonna tell through a mask on the sideline Saturday night?
